Can you guys think of any moments when during a performance, a singer or any member of a band finally cracked and went into a meltdown?
Here's what I can think of:
LANGUAGE WARNING IN BOTH VIDEOS
*Roger Waters, Pink Floyd: It's been said that the 1977 tour (esp. in Montreal) led to Waters writing The Wall. Gilmour wasn't happy with the Montreal tour either, as he sat out for the final encore.
NYC:
Montreal:
*Fred Durst, Limp Bizkit: In 2003, during the Summer Sanitarium Tour, Durst, fed up with being booed by the Chicago crowd (which was very much incited by Mancow's listeners), abruptly ended the set and walked off stage.
*Grace Slick, Jefferson Starship: In Germany, Slick, in a drunken state, went off in a rant saying, "Who won the war? WE won the war!" before being carried off by a bandmate.
*Axl Rose: Two cities: St. Louis and Montreal (the same show where James Hetfield got torched).
Are there any others?

Came in here to post Axl Rose, but I think it goes farther than those two shows. The prick was always stopping shows for pathetic shit, I honestly don't know how the rest of GNR put up with him as long as they did. Amazing vocalist, but he's pretty much a douche.

Early in her career, Fiona Apple could not get through a show due to stage fright. She's calmed down some since then, but I saw her a few years ago and she still has...quirks. If she's not playing or singing, she'll leave the stage, even if only for less than a minute. She also yells at herself if she misses a note on the piano.
It's oddly fascinating.

Didn't Axl once tell a crowd he was leaving the stage because he was going to take a shower? Haha. What a dick.

Jerry Lee could probably rival anyone for overall blow ups and incidents, but many of them didn't get much attention beyond the town he happened to be in that night.

i like the story of john lennon punching a guy out caus he called him a homo when the beatles were in germany and lennon jumped off the stage and started punching the guy and got on the table and said to the crowd "ok, anybody else have something to f***ing say?" and then walked back onto the stage and they continued playing like nothing happened.
im trying to remember what book that was from...i also recall Lemmy talking about something similar he saw when he saw the beatles when he was younger.
also Doyle of the misfits fighting...well EVERYBODY in one of the Misfits rio concerts in 97.

Her BIGGEST meltdown became headline news for a few minutes when she performed in NY. During the show, she became dissatisfied with herself, the venue's sound etc. and started yelling at music critics in the audience (which they deserve btw, but that's a whole other story) and then stormed offstage, ending the show altogether. She didn't perform again for a few years after that.

Didn't Oasis fight a lot back in the day on stage? no, they were always pretty cool on stage, it was only when they would get offstage when the fists would fly between liam and noel. they never once got into any conforontation on stage. even when liam would pull crap on noel...like at the mtv unplugged when liam claimed he had a sore throat and pulled out last minute and sat in the balcony smoking and drinking mocking noel and asking people around if there enjoying seeing his brother die on stage. or when liam would be drunk out of his mind on stage noel still kept his cool. same to when liam would change the lyrics of "live forever" back in the day to be anti United States...wow, Liam was a f***ing douche back then...im surpised it took Noel THAT long to finally leave.

Ray and Dave Davies of the Kinks were known to fight onstage. One of the reasons why they haven't performed together since 1995.
