Those all describe the behavior of a hipster. Liking things and turning on them when they become mainstream, and liking things ironically are what I generally associate with hipster culture. The PBR thing kills me, because it's now so cool to order it in bars and costs as much as the other beers on tap, while in college, it was the beer you bought when you couldn't afford beer. I think the OP was called a hipster because of his clothing and look. So, I direct you to this blog LATFH www.latfh.com (WARNING: Language in site title) for a more visual idea of a hipster. The glasses are definitely a prevalent item. Yeah and despite not liking things "mainstream" they seen to flock technology wise to the next cool thing. So basically, they're the equivalent of posting "FIRST!" on a new thread. They want to be there at the start of everything. If it catches on, they'll distance themselves from it for being commercial and if it doesn't, they'll usually talk about how artists haven't sold out or how something isn't ready for the unwashed masses. That's definitely a generalization, though. Most "hipsters" are alright and not too smug or full of themselves (outside of some dressing like idiots.), and I think quite a few people relate in some areas at least to wanting to find new stuff and telling people about it. (I say some ares, because technology for instance, most people would rather wait for "2.0".)
