Honestly, I'm gonna saw all of Raw 2009 should be the Gooker. Most of the angles on here showed up on Raw. - "Shawn is broke" - the never-ending feud between H and Orton - Hornswoggle vs. Chavo - Trump owns Raw - Raw guest hosts - the hot potato world title - Michael Cole There have been some good Raws this year, but overall it showed that the flagship show is sinking. Seriously people, Raw 2009 should be the Gooker. This actually makes a ton of sense. There has been SO much crap that came from Raw this year. ECW has been a decent "wrestling" show and showcase for the youngsters, SD has flown under the radar and been consistently pretty awesome (pre-Taker return anyway), but this whole thing with Raw becoming nothing more than the Gong Show 2009 has been sickening.

Most posts I see mainly focus on WWE...so here are some TNA ideas (Some repeated).
~ Suicide comes alive...from a video game
~ Reality Show girl shows what happens when someone with less wrestling experience than a backyarder has a PPV match.
~ TNA Legends Title: Featuring a Defense against Shane Sewell!
~ "The Governor"
~ Joe's Nation of Violence = Heel Turn against the people he was supposed to be furious with. Oh, and Taz is here to...nevermind.
~ ODB has a dating contest (Including a dance competition where someone busted out an "Octomom" move). Cody Deaner wins. Cody Deaner training videos. Cody Deaner wants to be Knockouts champ. These ALL go together and all of them are on the same level as Hornswoggle in my mind.

I was more concerned by his abduction and BDSM scene with Bashir.

Seriously people, Raw 2009 should be the Gooker. Whenever a World Title goes to RAW they really haven't given that title any respect. Right now the WWE Title (up to Sheamus) has been changed 9 times this year, the World Heavyweight Title (up to 'Taker) 8 times this year, while the TNA World Title (up to AJ Styles) has only been changed 3 times this year. Dramatic difference. Last year the World Heavyweight Title was heavily changed 8 times because mostly it was at RAW. IMO WWE wants Cena as champ on RAW, but since Cena's a "movie star" now they are trying anybody that can get just ONE OUNCE of a ratings spike until "The Last Son OF Krypton" returns permanently. Most posts I see mainly focus on WWE...so here are some TNA ideas (Some repeated). ~ Suicide comes alive...from a video game I think Suicide doesn't count because he debuted last year. He was postponed because Kaz got hurt and TNA waited for Kaz to heal. Since that was taking too long TNA decided to get Daniels as Suicide.

The front-runner for me has got to be the Diva's battle royal at Wrestlemania. What could have been at the very least a fun segment of the show was sandwiched between an unbearably long Kid Rock concert and crowning a man in drag as Miss Wrestlemania.
But, of course, we can't forget Jenna and Sharmell.

I kind of agree with the who kid rock divas entrance thing. But at the same time I feel they did it so we wouldn't see it was Santino in drag. The whole angle would have been killed if he/she had an individual entrance

Many people have mentioned the Sharmell vs. Jenna abortion that took place. I want to go further and nominate the entire PPV of Victory Road. Every match was a disappointment from a critical standpoint, and most of them had really, really awful finishes. It also featured the debut of Taz, which garnered little reaction because TNA telegraphed it way too much. Then, of course, you have the worst match in TNA history as the cherry on top. This. And Chavo/Hornswoggle.

Ya know, Hornswoggle is bad, but hasn't the Suicide thing been going on longer? AND a video game character is winning championships? I think that might give Horny some competition.

Except he hasn't been a video game character since January, made himself into the "Dark Savior" thing, and has actually put on some stand out performances in matches in the X-Division.

I'm thinking what's going to happen is the Kid Rock performance and Diva Battle Royal is all going to be added into the Santina Marella nomination as a whole, as they all seem to be intertwined. The reason the performance was done was so people wouldn't pick up on Santina being in the ring in the first place.

No one is going to agree with me, so it won't win, but for me personally my run away winner is a guy showing up on Raw, retiring Jamie Noble, kicking Lawler in the face, and then BEATING JOHN CENA CLEAN TO BECOME THE WWE CHAMPION. All within 2 months.
So monumentally stupid.

^ No, half of me agrees. I know a lot of people favor the angle, but that kind of booking reads like a bad Mary Sue fanfic to me.

It has to be WWE, because not enough people pay attention to TNA here. I know that will change with Hogan being there, and the guys who hate him will come out of the woodwork to point out the TNA Wrestlecrap in 2010, so be patient.
2009 Gooker Nominees:
Raw Guest Hosts: Yes there has been some good television, but nobody said Wrestlecrap couldn't be fun.
WWE's lack of logic: Hornswoggle get's destroyed by DX, Finlay comes out 2 weeks later as an member of DX, Chavo stops Chris Masters from beating up Hornswoggle, so the situation can be reversed a month later, Randy Orton kicked the crap out of HHH's wife, and a month later Trips is in DX and cracking jokes about Randy Orton.

I wrote this earlier this year, but I think it sums up exactly why Raw 2009 should be the Gooker (or, at least, considered). I really enjoyed the Shaq and Seth Green Raw, but I wasn't keen on Piven or Slaughter. Any other GM I was kind of "eh" too (although I had hoped Ted Jr. would have got a bit more the night his dad was in charge). The problem with Raw over the past couple of years is that the booking is ad hoc. How many storylines have the writers for the show made on the fly? Here are some things that have been affected or have affected storylines in an adverse way the past couple of years. The death of Eddie Guerrero. Rob Van Dam gets busted. The limo explosion. The Benoit murders. The illegitimate son. Wellness violations (when 7 guys were outed through that drug ring). Injury (Batista, Triple H, Orton, Cena). The Lashley experiment. Trump owns Raw. Trump doesn't own Raw. Guest hosts. Future endeavours. The brand split not remaining exclusive. The overwhelming presence of Vince McMahon (McMahonism, Billionaire Battle). Now, a lot of those things no one could plan for, obviously. So, it's unfair to blame the company for things beyond its control. But things it can control but still doesn't, well... I mean, how smart in the long run is to push an injury prone champion (Batista) or injury prone talent in a huge angle (Kennedy)? Then with guys coming and going among brands, being let go entirely, retiring, etc. The "anything can happen" motto really does hold true for Raw, but not in a good way. They really need to hammer out a good 6-12 month plan. For example: the Miz. Now, I like the Miz. I know others don't. Regardless, he hasn't been booked in a way that a) makes him look good meaning b) why should the audience care? meaning c) why should people pay? That's bad booking. You MAKE me care. One way or the other, either make me a huge fan or make me hate his guts to the point I'll buy your overpriced PPV to watch Cena kick the crap out of him. But instead, he's booked like a chump from more or less the word "go," hardly looks good against Cena (a bit of offense here and there doesn't count... not like he needs to go over, but make him look like a credible threat), gets "fired" from Raw and then comes back a week later. It's yo-yo booking. It's bad booking, because you bait and switch people long enough, they won't be there for support when you strike with the iron is lukewarm. I know this may catch some flak, but what in the end is to blame for Raw's stagnation? The brand split. Now, people say "well, that means we'll see Orton/H/Cena on top even more!" I don't know why people think that way. You have your top draws, granted, but putting the rosters back together opens up more possibilities for feuds. NEW feuds. New feuds that make MONEY. Take Cena. Let's throw some guys from Smackdown and ECW at him to see what feuds could happen. Cena/Punk Cena/Jeff Hardy Cena/Morrison Cena/Christian Cena/Taker Cena/Regal Cena/Koslov Cena/Mysterio Cena/Ziggler Those would be some neat matches or short 1-2 month feuds. With Cena on top, you could move Triple H down the card so he functions like the well worn vet who feuds with young talent. Let's take that list of guys again. H/Punk H/Jeff Hardy H/Morrison H/Christian H/Taker H/Regal H/Koslov H/Mysterio H/Ziggler Now, let's take a lot of the midcard talent and shake up some feuds there. Kane/Kingston Henry/Swagger MVP/Jericho Legacy/Dynasty Jimmy Wang Yang/Evan Bourne Finlay/R-Truth ... and countless others. Plus, having all the talent together means you could build up the dilapidated tag team division and the women's roster would look stronger too. Have all the trained women feud for the belt or personal grudges, keep the non-trained women as valets, managers, backstage interviewers, or the T & A attraction if need be. The state of Raw is symptomatic of wider choices made by WWE (the split) and outside effects they have had no control over. Plus, having writers that have been a part of the business would help. I don't think Hayes should do both shows, but someone LIKE Hayes. I think Steamboat would be a good agent for Raw. He could bring an old-school feel to the programming (see what he said to Punk/Joe on their shoot). It's not that Raw would be easy to fix. But all the tools and the talent are there. That Raw has been hit and miss for the past eight years (I would say) is very bizarre indeed. That I have continued to watch, barring some pauses (nothing longer than a month), for long may seem just as bizarre. It's funny, but kind of sad, that instead of working with Cena to build up the Miz, it took a U.S. title feud (meaning: staying the hell away from Cena as much as possible) that gave Miz the air of legitimacy he lacked in the Cena feud. I can't help but feel it proves my point 4 months ago.

My main 2 are the Chavo/Hornswoggle feud and the Morasca/Sharmell match. But I have to say, this has been one bizarre year. I mean the good stuff has been really good (Taker/Michaels, Punk/Jeff, Jericho/Mysterio), but the bad stuff has been really BAD.
