Anyone else here an alumni of those boards?
I remember being harassed constantly by Bob Ryder whom we made fun of for being fat and a shill for WCW. It was a fun distraction while I was in high school, but Prodigy Classic shut down sometime during my junior year of HS so I basically quit following pro wrestling after that. Plus my high school coach said it would rot my brain eventually.
Just curious how many people remember those "good ol' days" during the infancy of the commercial internet.

I wasn't on Prodigy at the time, but I can remember when Vince McMahon's voice would grace you upon going to the WWF's page on AOL...

Ah, Prodigy. Who owned them again, AT&T and Sears, Roebuck and Co? Ah, the early days of the web. You know, before DSL taught us the true meaning of power.

I was a "regular" there up until the time they closed. Those were the days.

Ditto: did both Prodigy and "Welcome to the WWF on America OnLine!"
The boards were so much fun when Hogan turned heel and formed the nWo. They SERIOUSLY played up there, thanks to Ryder.

I used to frequent the chat rooms which became very little wrestling related content. Heavy love for ECW and Indy Superstars Reckless Youth and Billy Reil. Fun times. I was even a host on the WWF Chatroom for a spell.

Somewhere in The Foley Archives my stash I've got the CD-Rom that allowed you to access the WCW Powersite. I may to dig it out and see if I can still get it to work...

If you get in i need to know! The WWE/WWF Message boards still worked for me when I logged in! I couldn't post, but I could read all the old threads. WWE needs to resurrect the Message boards. They routinely took ideas from there and made them happen. The ideas were usually good.

Anyway to get into the old Prodigy wrestling boards? I loved those, especially Fantasy Wrestling back in the day.

I remember the fight that erupted when Bob Ryder gave the backyard guys their own forum, and then I guess someone allegedly told Bob that there were kids on a tape hitting each other with glass or something, so Bob pulled the plug on it.
Some of the live chats were great, I remember that a lot of people didn't like Zach Arnold even back then for what he said. The more things change the more they stay the same...lol
A lot of the people who were in there were on the east coast and were big ECW marks. It was a fun thing to do in high school anyway. The boards were littered with a lot of crap, but you'd find a lot of interesting insight and sometimes solid reporting done. The fantasy boards were great too, I remember wasting hours and neglecting homework to do that.

I was in like 5 Fantasy leagues and almost got booted for having a fake account and being "The Snowman" and starting the Snow World Order and invading fantasy leagues I wasnt a member of. I wish I could be that stupid again these days and use my age as an excuse. And yes Arnold got his fair share of hate, especially in the chatroom for his puroresu banter.

I still have some of the chat text logs from back then saved on my old computer. Some funny, some just plain weird. I think I have one saved from the last night they had chat before the Mexican owners pulled the plug on the whole service. Probably the only person I've talked to at any great length since then was Rob Poole. Ally Willcox refuses to speak to me ever again after I implied to someone a couple years ago she was a ring rat. I wouldn't be surprised if a few people from there got killed. If you remember Dave Merlino he's still around although he refuses to speak to me ever. I guess growing up and becoming semi responsible made some people slightly angry. ;D but in the end I just decided that it was a blessing in disguise since I wasted a lot of time there and occupied a phone line constantly. It was pre cable model/DSL days. Although I did enjoy the chats, the occasional prank phone call, and constantly interjecting anything about amateur wrestling into any discussion. Here was a picture of me in action towards my latter high school years.

Cool, not familiar with Rob Poole. I remember Ally Wilcox and her brother who was obsessed with that gymnast chick. I was there far too frequently and rotted away my teen years. I have a half dozen chat logs saved on my OLD laptop too.

I remember I would rag on him because he attempted to try out for wrestling in high school and upon learning it was nothing like the stuff on TV he quit after one day.
I agree, it was kind of an interesting distraction during my early teenage years.

Or to find all the people from the chat rooms.

The last I remember of Ally she was engaged or living with her boyfriend or something. She worked at a gun shop/shooting range, but that's probably changed.
Mike Ventolo- ?
Bob Ryder- Well I think we all know what happened there.
Dave Parazk- I wouldn't be surprised if he's in jail for statutory rape.
A lot of people I remember by nicknames or a screen name of some kind. I vaguely remember Chris Kohn and someone told me he'd been seriously injured or killed, but I don't know if that's true at all. I think he lived in Oklahoma someplace.
I know I moved away from where I grew up. I'm not even in the same state anymore. Too boring where I lived. ;D

And I remember every single one of the names you just dropped.
