Back sometime between 1994-1996, WWF had this comic in their magazine called Scoop Sullivan. He was a kid who got into all sorts of WWF-related adventures, like going to Issac Yankem DDS's dentist office, or getting kidnapped by Mankind. He was also the biggest dweeb around. Friggin Jameson was The Fonz next to this yutz.
Imagine the biggest mark you've ever seen. Then multiply him by 4. That's Scoop Sullivan.
I even recall an issue WWF put out that was Sccop's "scrapbook" of sorts where he kept his WWF mementos, like chewed up gum that Shawn Michaels spit out, or Razor Ramon's toothpick. Horrible stuff.
Anyway, I want to know why this hasn't been inducted. This was about the same time as that KOTR 95 magazine that has already been inducted.
I remember hearing that the WWF was holding auditions for Scoop to become an on-screen character, but then it got dropped and never mentioned again.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is one of the many backburner inductions that haven't officially made it yet due to lack of time and/or motivation on RD's part.

That sounds amazingly bad. RD needs to put a rush on this induction.

*shudders as repressed memories of Scoop f'n Sullivan bubble to the surface like so much diarrhea*
Yep, I remember this guy, I even remember his canine sidekick Big Daddy Dog. I think he was inspired by the similar cartoon kid (Buzz or something) from Sports Illustrated for Kids, WWF Magazine was ripping off a bunch of crap from SI for Kids at the time (pictures of superstars as babies with retarded clues as to their identities, profiles of the superstars with personal crap like "Favourite Food", profiles of fans, etc.)
*looks through old WWF Magazines*
Oh god, I've still got some of these. Hey, an interview with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, remember him? Don't ask me how its' wrestling-related. Aw sweet, Bob Backlund saying big words to Scoop and then putting him in the chicken wing...
Shame the Attitude Era killed Scoop forever. I wonder where he is now?
ETA: I noticed that Russo himself actually wrote Scoop Sullivan, so it's probably a very good thing that he didn't keep it going into the Attitude Era. *shudders at the thought of Attitude-era Scoop Sullivan*

It would be difficult to induct considering it was spread across a couple dozen WWF Magazines. Here's one guest starring Doink, Jim Cornette, and MANTAUR!!

Excellent suggestion. Only problem: Scoop Sullivan was, to the best of my knowledge, exclusive to WWF Magazine.
Although I have quite a few issues of WWF Magazine featuring Scoop in my collection, I'm not sure that RD & Blade can say the same.

I think he was mentioned on the air a few times.
I could be wrong but I think they mentioned the auditions for the on-air Scoop role all of once, then never mentioned it again.

The entire WWF magazine during that period should be inducted.

I noticed that Russo himself actually wrote Scoop Sullivan, so it's probably a very good thing that he didn't keep it going into the Attitude Era. From what I remember (cos I don't have my WWF mags here in front of me), BRET HART illustrated those awful Scoop Sullivan comics. So even if Russo wanted to keep doing them in Attitude Era, there'd be the awkward factor of Bret not being around to draw them.

I remember this. Scoop was this nerd who would get picked on until he got angry and turned into a huge wrestler who would beat the crap out of his tormentor. I still can't believe they didn't give this gimmick to a wrestler back then. Seriously, the WWF was so bad around that time (1994-1996) that this seemed like a given it would be on TV.

The entire WWF magazine during that period should be inducted. WWF Magazine circa 1994-1996 was one of the reasons I tuned out for the most part until the nWo angle started. Remember Blake Hart's ppv reports?

Do you remember his idiotic non sequitur of a catchphrase, "Gee Minitely!"? Oh man, I can just see that on WWF TV back in the day, some little nerd-type gets his ass kicked by a heel, then crawls under the ring. The ring shakes or gets struck by lighting or explosions or something and Super-Scoop crawls out and beats the hell out of the heel. I'm actually really surprised they didn't do that. ED2099: Please tell me you're not serious about Bret Hart having drawn Scoop Sullivan. Man, between that and the whole Genie in Aladdin thing, I swear it's getting hard to be a Hit Man mark.

Celtic Heat: I'm pretty sure Bret Hart was in fact the illustrator behind the Scoop Sullivan comics. This was in the mid-90s, back when The Hitman and Jerry Lawler were in the midst of a fued, and I remember that Jerry Lawler's reaction to the Scoop Sullivan comics was to one-up Hart by publishing a caricature mocking Helen Hart. If I recall correctly, Lawler specifically chose to insult Hart's mother by publishing an exaggerated cartoon of her because he wanted to 'prove' that visual art was but another realm in which he was 'better' than Bret Hart.

Doesn't the WWE really like nerds though? I mean, they had George and Adam, Charlie Minn, Scoop Sullivan... JAMISON! They have a soft spot for nerds. Or making fun of their fanbase.

I've got about 15 WWF magazines sitting in a box at my parents' house. I never really got the point of Scoop Sullivan. I mean, he thought Alundra Blayze was the most beautiful woman on the planet? We're supposed to believe that? Nobody thinks Alundra Blayze is the most beautiful woman on the planet. Nobody.
And does anyone remember the Headshrinkers' recipe book? I was fairly young at the time, but I still thought it was pretty stupid. A Jim-Dandy Sundae...with Jim on top. Get it? Because people with brown skin are cannibals...or so the WWF seemed to be implying. Sigh...
