Some people seem to like this gimmick and others don't. On one hand, Striker was a former teacher and has good mic skills. On the other hand, Shane Douglas was also a former teacher with good mic skills and his "Dean Douglas" character didn't get over.

I like it, he's definately getting into the character. He gets good heat too when he isn't making Steve Irwin comments for cheap heat.

They could have had a neat stable with Striker, McCool, James and Stevens on Smackdown.

I didn't like Dean Douglas back in 1995 and I don't like Matt Striker in 2006.

I like it because he is an actual teacher that got into wrestling. If it was just a stupid gimmick then i would probably hate it

Up to now I have found him annoying but not in a way good for the character. I'm giving it time though.

Matt Striker....your teacher, can do no wrong in my four eyes.
He seems to be fitting in this new ECW very well. And in the feud with Sandman, he's not being all flibbertigibbet in the least. His promos have, for the most part, been on target and very well spoken.

I'm a big fan of Striker's teacher gimmick. He's one of my favorite parts of ECW right now.

plus the whole "THESE FANS ARE DUMB AND I'M SMARTER THEN YOU!" thing stopped working during the attitude era in my opinion.

I'm not so sure. I think he knows exactly what he's doing with it. He's using over the top vocabulary to make himself seem smarter than everyone and the guy just oozes that "I'm better than every last one of you people" vibe that makes a heel great. Plus, real experience as an actual teacher really helps the credibility of the gimmick. |

I enjoy the gimmick. He's a good worker too; very good matworker. He gets good heat in the gimmick and has a good look for it.

One of the things that keep me coming back to the EC-Dub is Striker's gimmick. It's nice to see the guy getting a steady TV presence, as I (at least) find him pretty entertaining in his current role.

like it but not a good fit for ecw and raw is so loaded you got no room to be a solid midcarder...he belongs on smackdown where you can also have the "do teachers do it in the staffroom" thing with ms. mccool ;D
hes a great heel but really doesnt have a spot...but he gets good heat.

Indeed, Striker does own. When I saw RAW in the UK he was laying into us and I was still cheering, the guy really plays his role well (obviously as he was a teacher) I like himin ECW as he's so out of place its funny
