Back when I saw some Nitros in 98 I saw that around October there was this nWo referee. No, Not Nick Patrick, just to avoid confusion. I mean this OTHER nWo Ref, I mean the one who wore this silly black and white striped skullcap. And was blowing a whistle constantly. Does anyone remember him? and just to refresh my memory, what was the storyline behind him?

Maybe I'm mistaken, certainly wouldn't be a first, but wasn't that current TNA ref, Mark "Slick" Johnson?
He was in WCW. The nWo referee was bald. Slick was bald. Maybe I'm just grouping all bald people together.

Johnson first came to prominence in the late 1990s when he joined the Atlanta, Georgia based World Championship Wrestling promotion. After suffering elbow injuries in 1998, he was sidelined until late 1999. When he returned, Johnson was given the gimmick of a unethical referee who actively favored heel wrestlers (as opposed to the other referees, who officiated matches in an objective fashion). While in WCW, he was a member of the nWo faction, wrestled several matches, refereed a total of eighty five main events and had the dubious distinction of being pantsed by Stacy Keibler during a match on pay-per-view.

I loved the masked referee! They used him in those matches at the nWo arena where Scott Hall and Kevin Nash would call their own matches, and it was all in black and white.

Nick Patrick was the secret heel that made calls that favored the nWo but no one could prove he was aligned until it came flat out obvious and it was made official.

Nick Patrick was a WCW TURNED nWo ref, Slick Johnson was refereeing specificaly Scott Steiner's matches but I still don't really see the alliance between the 2 though.
