What if... HBK did overcome the odds at SS 2003 in the team match? I mean that Austin's team won and everything.

How about...What if the count against Sting (vs Hogan) really was fast?
EDIT: Ha, I called the original point of the three count slow...see what no sleep gets you?

I'm not sure if this has been said or done yet, but...
What if the Ultimate Warrior had accepted Randy Savage's challenge for the WWE title?

Two VERY recent examples that probably won't get done:
What if Mr. Kennedy didn't lose his Money in the Bank briefcase to Edge?
What if Mr. McMahon's limo didn't blow up?
Also: What if Kurt Angle hadn't decided to go to TNA? What if WCW didn't completely ignore Bret Hart? What if the Billy and Chuck wedding had turned into a long-term storyline, or followed through with? What if HHH hadn't been injured at NYR 2007? What if Shawn Michaels hadn't gotten injured as DX was starting to rise? You mentioned the Millionaires Club and New Blood storyline and if it had worked, but what if WCW never rebooted? What if the AWA had given Hogan the title? What if Batista hadn't been injured last year? What if Eddie Guerrero hadn't died? What if WWE hadn't exploited Eddie's death? What if Mark Henry had won the World Heavyweight Title while he was constantly squashing Rey last year? What if Batista had gone to Smackdown after Royal Rumble 2005? What if David Arquette hadn't become WCW Champion? What if Ted Turner said no to WCW opposite Raw? What if WWF had not supported ECW? What if someone else took control of ECW after Tod Gordon left? What if Jim Crockett Promotions had been sold to someone other than Ted Turner? What if Chris Benoit stayed in WCW and didn't drop the title? And a specific Invasion one: What if ECW hadn't formed an alliance with WCW, but instead remained separate or even formed an alliance with WWF?

I tend to avoid current storylines, for a couple reasons: one, I wanna see how they play out and the follow-ups and ramifications. Two, I don't watch with any semblance of regularity, so I don't know it except from recaps. And three (tied into two), the product eats it hard nowadays. I gotta be invested in the product to want to rewrite it and the crap they put on nowadays ... yikes.
Did it. The first half of it. Eventually, it'll be reposted here.
Jed Shaffer ~I went to bed thinking "How long before a 'Vince's limo RTB' suggestion pours in?". It only took four hours. Nice.

Or "What Would Happen If" Orton got the face run in 2004 that Batista eventually received?

Just wanted to let everyone know that RTB hasn't fallen off the face of the Earth. I had a bit of writer's block that made a few RTB projects stillborn, and I've also been trying my hand at another outside project ...
But I'm now working on a new edition as we speak. It's a little slow-going, but I want you all to know I'm not slacking off. Not much, anyway.

Maybe its too far down the line (probably very hard to revisit)....but since this did make alot of impact in the wrestling world, an interesting question would be....
What if Chris Benoit hadnt gone insane and kill his family?

I can't speak for Jed, but I think that it's the same reason why he hasn't/likely won't do "What if Owen never did the Over the Edge stunt?" and "What if Eddie never died?" I don't think Jed wants to play God to the extent of raising the dead for a story. Also, I've noticed other stories have included the appropriate pauses in them when a person passed away in the real timeline.

What if the draw for the Ironman Match at WM12 was upheld and no sudden death was made?

What if Andre went back on his deal and didn't sell DiBiase the WWF belt?

I'm still waiting for the April Fool's RtB where Blade & RD came in after Hall and Nash left as Razor Blade and Big Daddy Deal and kicked off a tag title feud against Nicole Bass & Mike Jones that destroyed WCW to the point of bankruptcy in a week in a half.

What if Orton Didn't Drop The Strap A Month After SummerSlam to HHH???
I'll wait for it, but damn! He was so hot that month, I swear, it was like he could do no wrong. If anybody finds the hype video they had, its truly breathtaking.

Allow me to hit a few of these ... What if the draw for the Ironman Match at WM12 was upheld and no sudden death was made? THE BOYHOOD DREAM OF SHAWN MICHAELS HAS COME TO AN END!!! Sorry, had to do that. Not a bad idea, actually ... no 9 month Bret vacation ... maybe no Sid title reign ... hmm ... What if Andre went back on his deal and didn't sell DiBiase the WWF belt? The only thing that doesn't make me leap right off the bat is that I did that one with DiBiase buying the title from Hogan, so they're awfully close in time/theme, and I hate to re-tread over the same ground. Still, it's a viable idea with a different twist ... kinda puts Andre in a tweener role ... perhaps down the line ... I don't have a wholesale policy against RTB's where someone doesn't die ... they're just ... well ... for instance, Owen. Owen is beloved, a near-icon. The problem for writing an RTB about him not dying is an issue of realism; if I'm going to negate his death (a real-life incident), then it stands to reason I should make the story following it fairly realistic and not too elaborate. But there are those who have nearly exalted Owen, and if I don't do the same, some people may see it as disrespecting his memory (let alone some people thinking doing the story AT ALL being disrespectful). Eddie Guerrero doesn't have as much a problem as that, as he had been to the very top, so anywhere I could go would be acceptable ... Pillman's character allowed the same kind of freedom ... ditto Bruiser Brody. But overall, I'm still unsure I can bring myself to do stories on them. Setting public opinion aside, I don't know if I feel respectful by doing such a thing. As for the events of last summer ... NEVER. Never ever. Even if RD was comfortable enough to allow it on the site (and considering he's a published author, I doubt he wants the notoriety of allowing a story based on that on the site that is linked to his books), I wouldn't touch that topic if you paid me. The list of reasons why not is endless. Jed Shaffer ~Don't think I'm mad at ya for suggesting that. Just ... no.

Yeah....it would kinda be too personal to revisit that as it would bring back reasons why fans would want to stop watching wrestling (I know I did for a while because of it).
More recently.....we could do "What if Scott Steiner would not give Petey back the briefcase he had?"

Can't wait for the new stories. Anywho...
What if WSX became a contendor? What if Billy & Chuck stayed gay? What if Scott Taylor and Bryan Christopher were the gay couple? What if Cactus Jack won the Hell in a Cell against HHH? What if Rob Van Dam didn't get busted for drugs? (more specifically kept the titles)

I noticed something on the first page of this thread: While a neat idea in theory, it violates a rule I have for Re-Writing The Book concepts: the "what if" question being posed must spring from a real moment where the outcome I explore is possible. We all know that Heyman would've rather set his genitals on fire then do business with the WCW organization (he hated the whole company, not just Bischoff), and there was never even a rumor of this happening, so that more or less puts the kibosh on this particular idea. Which is why you had Heyman buying out WCW because he "didn't want to see McMahon disrespect it" in your DX/Nitro RWTB, right?
