Yes, I would. I love this band too much for words to express. Listening to Year of the Black Rainbow again and I f***ing love it. Anyway...yeah, aside from The Beatles, these guys are my favourite band of all time. I know there are fans on here as well, but there have to be some I'm not familiar with. And to those who don't really know the band, or have only heard singles, time to post some lesser-known songs! Anyway, yeah...most amazing progressive rock band to ever exist, as far as I'm concerned. Yes, better than Rush, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd...not saying that applies to everyone, just my opinion. So yeah, appreciate! Or don't. Discuss, at least.

What does their name even mean? Two characters from the stories that their first five albums are based on, written by their singer/primary songwriter, Claudio Sanchez. I know, pretentious or whatever. I think it's awesome.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so offended, I'm just used to people crapping all over that idea. My bad. If you wanna find out more about anything, www.cobaltandcalcium.com is an awesome place to start. It's their official fansite and the forums are loaded with information on the story and whatnot.

From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness, in particular, is probably my favorite album by any band ever.

Cool concept with the album/story thing.
Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of theirs. LOVE the music part, really dont like the lead singers voice. About the only song of theirs I like is "Welcome Home, " I think mainly because I've played it so much in RB. Not bashing em, just dont care a lot for em singing wise.

Incredible band, one of my favorite bands of the last decade. Their style combines technically solid instrumentals with an epic undertone and smart, fantastic lyrics.
Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV Volume One is one of my absolute favorite albums, from top to bottom.

Claudio's voice just isn't for everyone, and that's fine.

Personally, though, his voice is what drew me to the band. The first time I heard "A Favor House Atlantic", i thought it was a decent song until I heard Claudio's voice kick into high gear. From there, I was on board permanently.

Instrumentally they are really good although I don't care for the singer. Too many people in pop rock have that style in my opinion and I think it kind of hurts them since they aren't exactly a pop rock band.
I like their former drummer as a rapper way more. ;D

Honestly, these guys are probably in my top 3 favorite bands of all time. I'll admit that I really don't like their first album (I personally don't think they'd really found their 'sound' yet) but everything from In Keeping Secrets to The Black Rainbow is amazing.
I especially love the songs "Welcome Home", "The Crowing", and "Far." I listen to each of those songs at least once a day.

Just add "No World For Tomorrow" and "Gravemakers & Gunslingers" along with "Welcome Home" to the list of songs from C&C that I like, and it's pretty much this.
