They need to emphasize their original stars more.
What I'd do is what I thought they were gonna do/were doing when Hogan come in. Have Hogan appear all nice and fan friendly, but he's actually just using his position to get his buddies in and hog the spotlight. Have the veterans win a few matches but always through dodfgy means- cheating, referee bias, etc. (Not run ins, don't make the alliance obvious straight away). The TNA guys start complaining to Hogan and Bisch about their treatment, Hogan says he'll take it on board.
Build to a Triple Threat at some PPV, AJ (Perhaps with Ric, but not as a heel ripoff, have Ric act simply as his hype guy like with HHH), vs someone like Pope, vs 1 of the new vets for the TNA Title. Pope pins the vet, but Hogan comes out and states it was a fast count & the ref is obviously biased. Hogan names a new ref, in the end AJ retains. Pope gets a rematch next PPV and wins. But while this is going on you then spill that Hogan's just trying to make TNA his playground, AJ could go tweener with people questioning whether Ric is in on it with Hogan.
I'd actually have Bischoff as a face, who is sincerely out to put on a good product, but the faces don't trust him. You then get 3 camps- the TNA Originals, headed by Pope, Joe, Daniels, MCMGs etc., the TNA Neutrals made up of guys not well trusted, like AJ, Bischoff, Team 3D, and Hogans' crew, made up of Hogan, Nash, Hall, Waltman, etc.
Woudl blur the lines and if booked right produce good TV. The Originals would go over in the end, with some Neutrals siding with TNA (Aj amongst them), some Neutrals going for Hogan.
