^ Title.
He has a title match, would you buy him as WWE Champion right now?
Personally I'm leaning towards yes, but in the end it depends on how it is booked.

Right now, NO! Maybe in the near future like 3 years.

Outside of Bryan Wade is the best thing to come from that show. He is a decent enough wrestler, great on the mic has a look and charisma. He is a future champ I believe and they couldn;t have platformed him any better

I do see him as a World Champion. Just not now.
It's WAY too soon.

If Jack Swagger can be World Champion, anybody can. At this point, Barrett's more credible than Swagger ever was.

If they pushed Swagger properly on Raw after his amazing run on ECW he would have made a better champ

I could see it. They can play the interference card with him to add credibility, of course. WWE seems to like having a champ get a weak-looking, screwjob-infested first title reign before giving him a more credible reign, and Barrett is poised for that right now.

Hell yes. He's excellent on the mic and he's got the look.

I would buy it, yes. I prefer the old school "working your way up" way of getting up the card and such, but obviously thats not how things work anymore, so sure. As stated above, he can talk, has a good look, and is a serviceable worker.

YES YES YES!
Then again, I'd gladly have any of the NXT Season 1 guys win the WWE championship.
Anything for fresh new main eventers. As much as I like Cena, HHH, Orton, etc., it gets tiring when the same guys keep main eventing every PPV.

The guy's great and has all the tools of a seasoned pro right now ( sans his kinda crappy finisher, but it's no worse than Cena's or certainly Rey's)
Wade's awesome.

Wade Barrett as Champ? He's not anywhere near ready to be Champ just yet. He's still too green and has yet to face any real competition. Vince is trying to make another Sheamus by rushing him to the title too early and too fast. Give him 6 months or until American Dragon comes back to see if he's still has the goods for a title shot.

Yes. Yes. Yes. A million times yes. I want them to wait a while, infact i want this nxt angle to go on for as long as possible without reaching nwo overstaying its welcome levels but in 4-6 months:Yes. Wade Barret from the first time I saw the guy...having no idea who he was, just knowing he was a commentator in fcw has commanded my attention in the way that alot of the new stars of the past few years(swagger for example)havent. Instantly,I knew this guy was a big star because he already acted like one. He's got that indefinable it factor that cannot be taught. He's got a distinctive look that fits into wwe but isnt that cookie cutter typical muscled up crew cut ted dibase jr look, hes got a great promo, his ring skills are good and he just oozes charisma. I dont see a reason why wade barrett in six months shouldnt have the belt if even for a brief time. keep in mind. Before nxt season 1 he was a commentator for fcw,and on the first day of nxt he was able to look natural standing beside chris jericho. I think thats a sign of something. I could definately buy him as champ, and i hope it happens.

I just want them to change the belt before they even talk about doing this.

Yes.
If any new guy should win it, it's him because he would at least be a credible champion. Assuming he wins the title in some sort of gimmick match where Gabriel, Slater, Sheffield, Young, and Otunga can help him as Tarver distracts the ref.

While I can get the logic behind keeping guys in the midcard for awhile (though WWE does it for way too long these days) before moving them up, Hogan winning the title less than a month after re-debuting and in the process becoming pretty much the most successful champion ever kind of makes me see quick rises like Sheamus in an optimistic manner. Not that they'll have the same success - wrestling will never be as big as it was in the 80's or 90's again - but point is it can work out well.

Despite being against Sheamus first title win and most early-pushes, I say....
Without-A-Shadow-Of-A-Doubt-Yes.
Partly because he has all the tools: Look. Mic Skills. Character. Wrestling Skills.
Partly because he's been booked so well (Him as a character + the Nexus angle)
Just give the guy a few more spotlight matches with some good competitors to make sure he can go on a consistent basis...and maybe a better finisher.
Also, I think he'd be the guy that could easily be a gateway-source to a New Championship design. Goodbye Spinner.
