They're not gonna take on the big boys. Not now, not ever. And the wrestling marketplace isn't expansive enough for TNA to grow.

TNA is never going to grow if they spend all their efforts taking shots at WWE. I WANT TNA to succeed. I want them to be great. But they're wasting time and energy on trying to beat WWE when it just can't happen at this stage in the game. They need to focus on growing up before they can take on the big boys. Cause a wisecrack is ALL their time and energy, isn't it? God, he could have been giving the meaning of life right after, yet you're so hung up on the first thing outta his mouth. Who cares if it advances an angle they're trying to push, but he said something sorta WWE related! Jeez, people here spend more time making shots at TNA making shots at WWE than TNA does making shots in the first place!

Funny story:
I was watching Best of the X-Division volume 2 this weekend with the girlfriend and Tenay mentioned a few times during a couple of matches from 2005 about how "You won't see action like this any where else on TV!" a lot of stuff like that.
I then put on the Beer Money/MCMG match from last week and it just cracked me up because here we are five years later and Tenay was using the EXACT same lines during the tag match.
Just gave me a chuckle.

I can understand the "angry rookies" comment, but not "TNA Galaxy".

Have any of TNA's potshots at WWE actually benefitted TNA?

The whole promo was how they were gonna make an impact and such, yet him throwing out "TNA Galaxy" makes it all delirious speak to you now?

I didn't say that the phrase "TNA Galaxy" advanced the plot. What I said was the assumption you set up is that his promo advancing the whole angle is just skipped over entirely because he said "TNA Galaxy" So, what I was asking was if because of that, do you suddenly not get what he was talking about now?

The thing is, when WCW and WWF took potshots at each other, it was a rivalry between two equal powers. TNA trying to take down WWE is like a kid with a popgun trying to kill Godzilla. And when ECW took potshots at WWF and WCW, did people also make it out like they were a kid with a popgun? I also recall people treating Jericho doing the Hogan taunt on January 4th as the greatest thing ever. You can't help but notice a little bit of one-sidedness in how these things are treated.

I thought it was pretty lame when they did it, too.

I didn't care enough about the angle to take stock in the line one way or the other.

I didn't even remember when it happened since ECW wasn't on national TV back then. But no, ECW didn't get any benefit from its potshots either. People bought ECW stuff for hardcore violence, not humor.

Kaz was on the WWE roster. He never made it off Velocity, but he remained undefeated on tv for his entire run. I think he had an appearance one episode of smackdown but he was let go supposedly cause he wouldn't cut his hair. But the Nexus with I think one or two exceptions are pure rookies someless than year with any wrestling experience Like Mr. Two moves Otunga and Kaz has the potential to great I am not sure on Smackdown appearances but he was on Velocity several weeks before, as noted, he refused to cut his hair and was released/quit. Remained undefeated on tv though.

You'd think he wouldn't need to go on NXT with that experience.

People bought ECW stuff for hardcore violence, not humor. Why do they have to "benefit" from it? It didn't hurt them, and it emphasized ECW as an alternative -- which is the actual reason people bought ECW stuff. Not just the hardcore violence.
