He kinda looks like an 80s Sting without the face paint, to me at least.

In a business that has been littered with guys who have star power that half ass it on a regular basis, Cena goes full tilt everytime.
Also, he handled the Hammerstein in 2006 in an insanely awesome manner. When he went for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle, I marked out ridiculously, even though I wanted RVD to win, because the hate he got for it was VENOMOUS.
And he knew it.

I don't like the way he's pushed sometimes, and I don't like his promos very much, but I honestly think he is the best wrestler in that company right now. I haven't seen him in a truly bad match in a very long time. Dude carried Khali to some good matches, that takes talent.

His moveset is limited but he executes it quite well. He doesn't seem to screw up that much, if at all.
The initial ear-shattering pop he gets upon his entrance followed by a slow, rising chorus of boos is the most unique crowd reaction I've ever heard. I call it the Cena YayBoo.

I like his character a lot. You can tell he's a Hogan mark, right down to the way he orchestrates his comebacks.

Also, no matter how much slack he gets from certain crowds (me included at times), he still has the balls to go out there and do his job.

If there's pending doom, say a giant meteor about to hit the earth, Cena can fly up into space & destroy it.

Nearly everything about John Cena is awesome. He's this generation's Hogan, without the bullshit attitude (coming from someone who loves him some Hulk). There is absolutely no reason he shouldn't be THE top guy for WWE. Seriously, it's like he's some sort of android pieced together by the WWE with aspects of all of their biggest money makers and programmed to not be a complete turd about it.
-Contrary to what jackass audiences may chant, Cena CAN wrestle. Just because he doesn't do the stuff Kurt Angle or Chris Jericho do every night doesn't mean he can't. He's held his own with guys like them before and had some downright great straight-up matches before. It also doesn't mean hes dogging it when he doesn't. Steve Austin was a great technician, but he realized people were bored by him wrestling. They wanted punches, stomps, fingers and Stunners. Cena wrestles for the fans, not himself. You know, like all wrestlers (or at least those who want to make money) should.
-The guy wasn't handed his spot. He earned it. He got over by entertaining the fans. He worked his ass off every night. Why don't you ever really hear any wrestler trash Cena outside of a storyline? I'm sure its a hell of a lot harder to earn the respect of your peers than it is a bunch of wrestling fans.
-A bunch of main event guys will go the extra mile. They'll sign autographs, and pose for pictures. How many actually seem like they not only enjoy doing it, but are having the time of their life doing so? John Cena.
-Remember when Big Show (also awesome) battle rapped Cena, and made a Kobe raping white people joke (even more awesome), then Cena tossed the mic in the air to Show and dick kicked him as he was catching it?
-Anytime you start to get down on him, Cena surprises you. Who honestly expected some random Raw match with Michaels to go nearly an hour and (personal opinion) never really drag?
He's that guy in high school that has it all, and you want to hate him for it, but you can't. He's just too cool. He doesn't think he's better than anyone else. He's friends with the entire football and debate teams. You'll go from wanting to kick his ass, to being close friends in pretty much one meeting.
