D - the main event was good but the short timespans between eliminations bothered me. The rest of the PPV was accetable to bad. It really was a one match show but at least this match delivered.

B-.
There was one rubbish match out of all of them (Divas, and surprising considering the great matches on Raw last week) and Laycool's random appearance didn't save it, but the surprise and suspense saved the night and produced some "Summerslam moments"

I'm giving it a C. The first three matches were all poor, although Kofi/Ziggler can't be blamed for their match as it was cut off at the legs just when it started to pick up.
I thought the second half of the Orton/Sheamus match was fantastic, and even with the bullshit ending it was a great match, definitely the best Sheamus match I've seen.
Mysterio/Kane was a lot better than I expected. Kane seemed motivated and busted out a number of spots we never see in Kane matches these days.
The main event was awesome.

C.
A couple of great moments aside, the match quality just wasn't there. Sheamus/Orton was great and the main event was fun, but Ziggler/Kingston, the SES/Show match and the Divas match might as well have been TV matches.
It's been said before, but SummerSlam just doesn't have that "Big Four" PPV feel about it anymore.

50/50 for me. And by 50/50, I mean the last two matches made up for the rest of the s***. Kane beating Rey AND kicking Taker's ass was a markout moment rivaled only by him winning MITB and getting the title. Oh, and I liked the Miz promo. This pretty much sums it up for me. I'd give Summerslam a C.

Sheamus/Orton was okay, and the main event was pretty decent, though not spectacular or anything. The rest was kind of take it or leave it.

C-. The main event kept it from being a D for me. Ziggler/Kofi couldn't been better if not for being used as Nexus cannon fodder. The womens title match was a waste of time. I dont see the appeal of Alicia Fox. Orton/Sheamus wouldve been good for a Raw main event. That ending should not be on a ppv. Rey vs Kane was solid but did anybody really think Rey had a chance of winning? Seemed like the show was geared to the 7 on 7 match as the selling point, which admittedly delivered.

Oh, damn. Yeah, I forgot about the finish to Sheamus/Orton.

Most of the matches were poor. The main event was not even that great.

I'd give it a C average. The things that simply save it from getting lower were Taker putting over Kane for the first time in years and the return of Danielson.

I'd give it a D.
The good: Miz Promo Daniel Bryan returns Taker returns The Main event match (except the ending) Laycool attacking Melina
The Bad: I found all the matches outside of the main event to be really dull. The Main Event ending was a massive letdown.
It was disappointing even more after the awesomeness of the MITB PPV which I would give an A+ to.

I thought it was really disappointing. Orton vs Sheamus was an ok match but it didn't really hook me. Then when Sheamus was laid out at the end, Miz should have cashed in. I am starting to buy into Sheamus but I think he should have lost the title tonight. Kane vs Rey was ok too. Never been fond of their chemistry in the ring and I am sick of this matchup. I dont think it should have main evented SummerSlam. The Taker bit was predictable and I am let down by the feud with Kane again. THe main event had its good moments. Daniel Bryan was a good addition and the return of his feud with Miz makes sense. I do think it pushes Miz down the card instead of elevating him. I was pleased with how Bret performed. Better than his "match" with Vince or the Miz. Shades of old Hitman but still apparent the effects of the stroke. The Cena ending ruined the whole match. I've seen him overcome the odds in a creative way where he really had to pull out all stops. THis was not one of them and making Barrett tap was crazy anticlimactic.

I voted B, but really when I think back on it, it's closer to a C. I mean you had a great opener ruined for the sake of ... something we've seen a dozen times in recent weeks. You had Sheamus/Orton, when it was finally getting good, end in a DQ. You had Undertaker's return end up as anti-climatic as any he's ever done. Then you top it off with Cena getting DDT'd on a concrete floor and winning the match literally two minutes later.
The action I thought was pretty great. The booking team just swooped in and crapped on it.

The only thing I REALLY didn't like is the DQ finish. 2 Big PPVs with Sheamus/Orton for Sheamus' title, and THEY BOTH END IN DQ!??!?!?!?
But I did notice some parallels to this and WM26:
-Both shows had a non title main event, with the world title matches right before it. -In the secondary world title match, the heel champion escapes with their title and gets beat up by the face after the match. -CM Punk lost at both -Bret competed at both -Big Show won at both -The Nexus (and DB) appeared at the preshow battle royal at WM, watching the match. At SummerSlam, they were in the main event
So...B-

Like the 7 on 7 overall, despite the rushed ending. I though Show vs SES was a good match. Alicia vs Melina and the thing with LayCool was pretty good. Sheamus vs Orton was decent but shouldn't have ended with a DQ. Rey vs Kane was OK but Undertaker's return was a bit crap. Ziggler vs Kingston should have finished properly.
I give it a 'C'

How else would you finish Sheamus/Orton? Give Randy the belt? Then it's "Sheamus was cheated out of reign." Sheamus can't feud with anybody else. It was the only way. The IC title match sewed seeds in Nexus' wilting garden. Now Smackdown could be in the mix. The Diva's title match built to a unification storyline. We FINALLY ended this Undertaker bulls***. Daniel Bryan was the best swerve you've all seen in 5 years, The Miz gains steam, and Cena fights his war. All logical. This PPV deserves a solid A. That's all fine. But the poll asks the voter to grade the show based solely on match quality, not on the continuation of story lines. This PPV I guess is like Survivor Series 1998 in that respect.
