I could picture the spare ropes being kept in a warehouse full of crates like the Ark of the Covenant,

I didn't even notice. But really....you don't think WWE has more than one set of ropes of each color? I highly doubt that. Actually, I doubt that they have more than one spare rope with them at all times. 80-foot ring ropes are awfully long and bulky to travel with, especially since the entire ring travels in just one 18-wheeler. Besides, why would you need six ring ropes with you (unless you plan on bringing back WarGames)? Also, you can't just wrap a ring rope in colored electrical tape, as each rope also has a coating on it to prevent the tape from coming off and to make the ropes look shiny for television. There was no point in stripping a set of NXT or SD ropes, retaping them in red, and recoating them just for one night of television. It's a pretty labor-intensive process. I'd imagine the WWE simply has ropes made and switched out as needed instead of traveling with a bunch of spares.

I watched them change the ropes last week - they took down the blue ones, put on yellow ones, then took down the yellow ones again and put the blue ones back on. No changing of casing.

As long as they never use the Wrestlemania 24 orange ropes again. Yuck. I quite liked those ropes. Nice and summery

I'm picturing Vince standing in a "rope store" looking at a wall full of the little color cards, much like a paint store.--"Hmmm. Topaz or Robin's Egg Blue...?"

WWE was just being careful. They got word that there was some bad red rope licorice circulating through the arena.

You know, I never notice the color of ropes changing. It's just something I don't really recognize until others point it out.

I like how raw changes it up every now and then. It would be nice to see red on outside, black in middle.

So what ring ropes do Superstars have? Dont they tape Superstars both on Monday AND Tuesday but usually they just use NXTs ring ropes which are now yellow I like the yellow ones it looks cool but I do remember seeing the ropes at the start of RAW as white and then change em to red 20 minutes in I was slightly confused

Depends - usually it's red at the RAW tapings, white at the SmackDown tapings. The past couple of weeks, it's been white at the RAW tapings, blue at the SmackDown tapings.

White would be a nice change of pace, honestly. I doubt they keep it that way, though.
Honestly, I wish they'd go WCW-style with their ropes, though. I much prefer the solid cable-looking ropes over the rope...ropes.
But that's just me.

I heard word that WWE have said that red ring ropes don't look good on HDTV - whilst red looked good on Mark Henry for some reason.

That's more of an eggshell white than a traditional white.
I can't believe ring rope discussion has gone near three pages. And most of the conversation is somewhat serious. I would have liked a little more flaming though. Whatta way to get banned. Heated exchange over the orange ring ropes from Wrestlemania 24.

They need sparkly ropes with smiley faces. "Bitches love smiley faces."

Gahh, beat me to it. that's actually how I made friends with a guy at work. He was on his sidekick in the break room and I just said.
"texting bitches smiley faces?"
and he responded without looking up "bitches love smiley faces"
Thank god he also watched the Boondocks or I'd have looked like a weirdo.
