I know there always been that running joke that Diva's don't get last names unless it's the same as their first name (Kelly Kelly.) Of course that is not always the case, as most divas do have last names.
However, on the debut videos of AJ Lee, Jamie Keyes, and Naomi Night, they all said their last names. Now, none have last names, the reason that I even brought it up was that I was looking at the FCW roster, and all of their last names have been removed from there. When they showed Naomi's hype video last week they edited out her saying her last name this time. Why does the WWE do this? Is there a marketing reason? Or do they think they can't get over with last names? It's kinda weird.

These Rookie Divas don't make very much.
They had to sell and/or lease them out to make some extra money.

I think it's a marketing thing. Plus it's easier for people to remember one name rather than the whole name.

They said AJ Lee on the show last week I believe... but other then that... I dunno... maybe it was stolen along with Tiffany and Eve's?

Yeah I just think they did that to make things easier for the fans and our tiny, sub-human brains that they think we have. I could understand that. Here's what I'm thinking most of the time when I watch NXT, "Girls....pretty." Having to remember their last names would cause my brain self-destruct.  |

WWE wants them become iconic first names like Madonna, Rhianna, Beyonce,and Prince. Unfortunately they made the most of Divas so interchangeable, it doesn't work out.

McCool still uses her last name, other divas the name just disappeared like Maryse, Eve, Layla, all of NXT season three, maybe they are in the same alternate universe as Darren Young and Bret Hart

If I am not mistaken , Beth is the only diva announced with the last name and a nickname.

Yeah, most divas don't get pomoted as having last names, though they sometimes refer to them by their last names. I recall in the last year that Eve Torres, Layla El, Jillian Hall, and Rosa Mendes were all referred to by their last names. That does not cover the fact that McCool, Kelly, and Beth Phoenix are all promoted using last names as well.
