Jesus he isnt dead. He has a tour coming up, probably wants a schedule more like HBK and will be back. Can people be more dramatic? HBK and Jericho are all time greats but they have been doing a good job elevating new people and now have even more impetus to do so. Would everyone rather WWE turn into TNA and become Grumpy Old Men? I know Jericho isnt there yet but he isnt the future. Ironically your post is far more dramatic than the mild dissapointment present in the rest of the thread.

Thanks for the memory Jericho. It's been fun. At least he's leaving out (somewhat) on top.

Reportedly Jericho was very willing to stay, but WWE would give not an inch with the contract negotiations. I don't know what Jericho wanted, but probably more time off for TV and music pursuits.

I don't really watch wrestling much at all anymore, although I still keep tabs. Jericho though is one of the all-time greats, and it's crappy(see what I did thar?) that he's leaving. At least he's leaving on his own terms this time, and not Vince's. But if he was going out he probably could've done better then be quickly eliminated from the match (or so I hear he was).
And on a side sort of topic, I always though Six-Pack challenges were one fall to a finish, not elimination? Then again my memory might be faulty. Phantom GM made it into an elimination match this past RAW when Jericho whined.

He will do some overseas tours with Fozzy, maybe some TV work and will probably be back in spring. He kept saying how he was having fun and was at the top of his game, so i don't see this being as long of a break as his last one. I hope he teases the marks with a TNA rumor like he did last time when he put the TNA logo on his site, lol.

So does tonight beat getting fired, and dragged out by security while crying? Jericho choose that fate voluntarily. I'm guessing he choose this one as well. He's someone they definitely needed, as he was the heel with the most heat. Anyway, this run really showed how he was truely a main event player.

He came back to "save_us" from Randy Orton's boring personality. And he's forced to leave in a match where Randy Orton begins another boring title reign. Spooky. That one smarts... No Jericho = No Fun

I hated his srs gimmick and found it boring after the HBK fued but in recent months when he lightened up and became funny again I was starting to mark for Jericho again. It's a damn shame he's gone and Orton is champ

The thing with this was... it had both good and bad effects.
Of course bad being that Jericho, at least for this time, won't be in the WWE. Raw will be less fun, and it will always hurt to not see Jericho there. Regardless if his SRS gimmick had gotten ridiculously stale, it was always a smile to see his theme play. And another bad thing was, just the way that match was. Jericho gets eliminated first, and I get it just "to have a big effect" because of the whole stipulation he put on it, and everyone stopping and staring was absolutely perfect, it still irritated me. And than the fans doing the typical baloney because they aren't smart enough to know what Jericho has contributed to the business. And those contributions are humor, phenomenal wrestling, and an all-around great entertainer.
The good thing is: he knows what he is doing. Jericho is a very smart man, and whether it be a month, six, or two years ago, he'll be back. He has the ability to come back. Someone on here mentioned TNA and what not. Jericho is definitely not Nash, Sting, Hogan, Flair, etc who really can't do squat. So that comparison was pointless. He still has a good few more years left, having... what was it, NEVER being injured before? I really don't think he ever was injured inside the WWE, which is honestly pretty amazing.
Gonna get his DVD. Smile. Enjoy the moments. And hope to see Y2J back in action.
