Striker: Remember Edge had a torn Achilles injury! Lawler: ..you brought that up already.
Lawler seems so hostile towards Striker and it doesn't even seem to serve any purpose most of the time, this exchange stuck in the memory but i remember at least a few more last night.

Striker: "Notice how the Lets go Cena chants are coming from the children and women, and the lets go barrett chants are coming from the guys."
*Awkward silent pause*
King: "And your point is."
I guess King is just paranoid that he is going to lose his job to someone better and younger than him. It's a shame that King brings nothing to the table these days, I forget he's there half the time and when he does contribute he just sounds bored of life.
They should take him off commentary have him turn heel and manage a young up and comer, see if we can reignite the fire in his belly.

Isn't he like this towards Michael Cole every Monday?

Yeah I was irritated when Matt named off the Cattle Mutilation and Lawler completely buried it

Striker has really been hitting out of of the park with his commentary lately, it's excellent.
King of course, isn't really a character anymore, he's just a regular commentator most of the time. Sounds pretty funny now hearing him talk down wrestlers for cheating now since I don't recall a match from his prime where he DIDNT cheat, usually many times.

It did seem hostile throughout the night, but also after the Michelle/Natalya match, Matt jokingly stuck his tongue out at Lawler, and Lawler said "Did this idiot just stick his tongue out at me?" And all three laughed and Matt looked towards the crowd and pointed like Jerry was talking about one of them.
Who really knows. Cause at that moment, it seemed like they were havin' fun. But who knows.

There might be some hostility there, as Striker has made quite a few comments at past PPVs/Smackdowns about Lawler's past... Indiscretions.

There might be some hostility there, as Striker has made quite a few comments at past PPVs/Smackdowns about Lawler's past... Indiscretions. Well, so has everyone else, even Lawler. If what I've heard on Colt's Art Of Wrestling podcast is true, I can see why Striker rubs people the wrong way, especially since he still seems like a real mark for the business, a quality that I appreciate, and the WWE does not.

Lawler has no reason to be angry or whatever towards Striker, but I do think Striker needs to tone it down a bit. When a younger guy comes along, does your job better than you do it now, and seems sort of snobby about it, I can see why he'd be upset, not everybody's JR and can step aside so easily.
With Cole turning up the heelish stuff lately, he and Striker play off each other very well, now Striker is A LOT better at not one-upping the other commentators anymore. King is just in the way now,.

That's what I love about Striker, he comes across as a genuine fan and it feels like he loves what he is doing. Whereas with Lawler it feels like someone stuck in a job they hate going through the motions until retirement. It will be a sad day when the machine finaly beats Striker down thus losing his enthusiasm and becoming jaded.

King needs to piss off already, he hasn't been remotely interesting in about 5 years, and started to borderline suck when JR was no longer there to pick up the slack. It honestly sounds like he's asleep most of the time and Cole has to nudge him to wake him up.
Replace him with Josh Matthews, Josh and Cole seem to have great chemistry on NXT. Leave Striker on Smackdown with Grisham since they are the better announce team between the two.

I know this is unpopular, but I seriously want Striker off commentary as soon as possible. I find him unbearable, in the same league as Coach's run on Smackdown.

I've noticed that last night, and I wondered why he was being so hostile. Striker just seems like a nice guy who's a mark for the WWE, and is happy he gets to commentate.
Besides, Lawler bores me.

Lawler is just a guy that really likes Cena now, and seems to only refer to him as "John". No last name, just John.

Lawler is still mad that ECW got a slammy for best announce team a couple years ago.

I thought Lawler was decent last night. Nowhere near his days with JR, but decent.

I'm pretty sure I've heard Dave Meltzer or Bryan Alvarez mention on one of their MP3 shows that there's legit heat between Lawler and Striker. But I can't remember why.

Ya know why Striker has fans and why Cole is actually getting momentum?
Character.
Fans do NOT like cookie cutter bland guys on commentary, we grew up with Ventura and Heenan, and even the younger kids have Boomer Sooner with hs BAH GAWD's and Government Mules.

Lawler always does sound like a dick when he's talking to Striker. It's like he's intimidated by people that are smarter than him. I know a lot of people that are like that.

Striker: Miz has been using his vast social networking skills to learn submissions!
Lawler: You can learn submissions from twitter? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
Striker: ....
Yeaaaah. Striker is horrible.
