I'm surprised Vince knows who Greenday even are, I mean Little Richard is a hot new artist to Vince. He doesn't know who they are, he got them confused with "Green Jelly." (The guys who sang "Three little pigs" and also did a duet with Hulk Cogan covering Gary Glitter's "leader of the gang")

I actually reflexively reached for my remote and muted the speakers as soon as the song started.
Over the years I've built up a pretty strong tolerance for whatever puerile pseudo-musical nonsense the WWE decides they need to blare during their shows, but hearing Green Day was like getting punched in the throat.
Good thing I only watched this because it was live, at least I can fast forward the DVR from now on.

I'm personally glad it's not a nu metal song. That's a genre that shelf life has expired. I hate Nickelback but got used to the Raw theme. I'm not a big fan of Green Day's new stuff but will get used to it. But I really wish they would branch from the rock themes and use some hip hop songs.

Bring back the rap theme they had... If they do, then I'm blaming you first. I disliked the theme with a passion, seeing as it had to replace "Beautiful People".

Oh man just wait until he finds out Nirvana can't do the anthem at Wrestlemania next year. Lol'd, felt bad, still lol'd. As for Nickelback, I'm a fan but I can easily admit that the majority of their newer stuff (ESPECIALLY DARK HORSE) is shit. And I am apathetic toward Green Day, but they definitely could've chosen a better song of theirs, if they HAD to use Green Day.

I think he's more talking about how generic those bands are. Green Day aren't political at all, they are pathetic shills though for whoever is sponsoring them this week. Just like WWE.

It's better than the crap theme Raw has now. SO much better. I detest Nickelback. I'm actually quite fond of Green Day, so I'm totally cool with this.

Terrible choice. I don't even hate Green Day, but Know Your Enemy was overplayed a year ago. To me that song is unbelievably stale, which doesn't help when they're trying to get over Smackdown's brand spanking new look. It's the equivalent of painting a wall with a new coat of paint and then throwing sour milk over it.

I LOVE Green Day and still found it really strange...like almost spit-take strange, for then to be associated with WWE. From being a punk band from down the street to being a political rock band, it's just wierd to see them having musicals and doing the theme for Friday Night SmackDown! And I feel like it kind if kills any legitimacy they might have left. It's just so commercial...
Also, the song is kind of a weak one, and I thought so at the time of the single's release last year. It doesn't fit a wrestling show that well, but I'm all for changing how wrestling themes are done, moving away from "DUNN DUNN DUNN GRAAAAAAH" nu metal towards something different (the couple of months in 2007 where they used Kasabian and Hives songs was pretty great)
But like with the Red Hot Chili Peppers being used for WM24, it just seems odd and sort of a revelation to look at what was once an "alternative" band being used for such a major, commercial product like WWE. Kind of makes you realize where those bands have ended up, and that 1994 was a looooong time ago.

Kevin Rudolf no longer has the worst WWE show theme song! BLASPHEMY,BLASPHEMY,BLASPHEMY! That is a great theme and much better than Wild and Young! Anywho, why did they choose this song? This song was over one ot two years ago. If they had to do a Green Day song they could've done this. And at least it's better than "If you rock like me". I hated that song SO much!

I like Green Day but I found this weird as well. Nu metal may be old but it still pumps you up for a wrestling show better than pop punk does. I could probably name 100 songs off the top of my head that would've been better choices than this.
