Instead of spending all the money on the pink towels, hats, gloves, cleats, etc...couldn't they just donate that money to Breast Cancer Research? They could easily paint a large pink ribbon on the field, or something to that effect. You'd think so, wouldn't you? But here's why you're wrong. If they didn't make it, you couldn't buy pink s*** to show people you are against breast cancer. You're not FOR breast cancer are you? It's just a feel good thing for people. "I bought a pink Bills hat, I'm part of the solution now!" Rather than actually anything being done you just churn out s***ty merchandise. The NFL and breast cancer isn't alone on this, pretty much every organization is guilty of it now. Breast Cancer Awareness is it's own industry now and they are still no closer to finding a cure for all the pink hats and ribbons and hockey sticks and pink hockey ice in the world. LOL @ the idea that anyone wants to buy a Bills hat.

One is about chicks touching their beautiful boobs, the other is about middle aged guys getting fingers in their butt. For the record, why do all those lubes in the clinic feel like they came out of the god damned freezer? Would it kill you to have them be warm? Honestly here people. My butt does not approve of the current coldness. /the above statements have been written by an angry man who had his checkup last Friday. Additional Note: Why does my doctor have to have huge hands? Seriously. Um...cold lube and fingers beats having a piece of cold metal being shoved in a personal place. The Prostate Cancer Foundation would have been better served by partnering with the NFL instead of throwing a fit and playing the poor little man card. They're trying to establish one, and this is how. It's hard to establish a relationship with something like the NFL if they don't know who you are.

Thanks for beating me to what I was about to say. And not to sound cold-hearted, but somewhere along the way, "awareness" transforms into "let's terrify every single woman for a month." Or...it reminds women to perform regular self exams, which remains the best way to prevent deaths related to breast cancer and has saved the lives of tens of thousands of women. I know. But even my mom (who got called back after a mammogram for the first time ever this month) got really tired of being reminded of it everyehere she looked.

Anyways, Australian Football has the EJ Whitten Legends Game which donates all profits to the EJ Whitten foundation which is for prostate cancer research and prevention.
Mostly because this moment lives on in the memories of every single AFL fan and nobody wants something like it to happen again.

Breast cancer awareness is where it is because a lot of people for a long time busted their asses to put it out there. Prostate cancer advocates are attempting to do the same thing which is great. But I HATE when people whine about breast cancer getting too much this or that. No it isn't. Comparably other diseases aren't getting enough but it's ass backward somehow deriding the breast cancer awareness movement and it's supporters. Stop whining, get of your ass and do what those people did and your cause will get the same attention. As someone who had a grandmother who contracted the disease back in the seventies when it wasn't "sexy" and a lot more women died from it I don't how any reasonable person would want to turn back the clock to that. You are right on all counts there, I couldn't agree more. But the Blue's do need the help a lot more right now, there is no denying it. I took this picture myself while I was at work tonight. You guys can be the judge of whether thats too much or not, because I don't care, what I do care about is prostrate cancer awareness getting to that same point. While I agree that there really should just be a general cancer awareness type deal, thats not how the world works. So basically if you want awareness for this you have to go out and demand it. While I fully support both causes, one is a have and the other is a have not, so I'm gonna work harder for the blue because it needs it more. From what I've read about the PCF they've been doing some good things, they simply arent doing enough. They need to blitz everything they can. The NFL, UFC, NBA, NHL, NASCAR and hell even WWE. They need to go after companies that target alot of men. Anheuser-Busch, Gillette, the various car companies, anything they can. I'm gonna do my part by starting with the store I work in, giving my bosses ideas for things we could do, I can't do the national level stuff though, the PCF needs to put on the big britches and start getting down and dirty with alot of different companies and organizations. The NFL is a good start, although honestly they shouldn't need to do petitions, the NFL should just say yes and do it, they have no reason not to. While I support both causes, like i said, one needs me more than the other right now.

To solve this problem the NFL will no longer have breast cancer awareness month. I think that a big reason that the NFL even has the breast cancer awareness month is because they're trying for some good publicity to distract from things like Rothelisberger and other domestic violence incidents. They've been doing it for several years, so no Big Ben isn't a factor.

I think partnering with prostate cancer would be a good move for the NFL or any major sports league for one major reason. The players are men, most of the fan base are men, the officials are men. And since prostate cancer is a huge threat cancer wise for men, it would be wise to do that.
Everyone know about the check yourself for lumps on the breast. And thats a great cuase do not get me wrong my grandmother had it years ago. But Blue ribbon needs more help because hell, how many men are willing to do a self check up on their prostate?

Make it happen NFL!! I apologize for my poor MS paint skills lol. By the way, I've emailed every major sports league in the US this morning about this. I've even emailed WWE and TNA. So I at least did a little something to try and help for now.

Thats the thing, I don't know if the average man could do one on himself, yeah you can get your fingers up in there I guess, but how do you know what to feel for? Realistically men NEED to go the doctor to get checked up for this sort of thing. They need to swallow their pride and let Dr. Jellyfinger do his job, you may feel awkward at the time, but it could save your life, and thats whats important. Bonus points to anyone who gets the reference I put in that message.

Man I was really hoping that they were being called out for the way their refs are constantly pandering to the Steelers with their BS officiating.

That's what chicks had to do before lump mock ups came out. However, dudes do need to go to the doctor to let the pros check things out and ask questions.

They're just pink.

MLB does a week for prostate cancer but it gets nowhere near the attention that the breast cancer awareness stuff gets. The players wear blue armbands and MLB donates I think its $10,000 for every home run hit.

I think the biggest problem is that the Prostate Cancer Foundation is much better research and treatment then they are at marketing and promotion. For example the Komen Foundation have a Race for the Cure in many different parts of the country, we have one here in my city every year. Lets say the PCF were to strike a deal with say the UFC, and they could have the "Fight for the Cure". They could do a PPV for it with a big sum of the revenue going towards Prostate Awareness. Geez they should just friggin hire me to do it! lol J/K

This old woman at work probably buys it, but she gets cranky if you mention any other kind of cancer other than breast cancer. She's like a pink ribbon nazi.

And that's the sort of thing that really gets under my skin. I can't just be for or against something. I made a joke online about seeing a ribbon magnet for stopping domestic abuse. Like if a man was about to slug his wife, but saw that magnet, and changed his mind. But I've also had a disabled vet get upset with me. There was a booth set up outside of walmart, and they were asking for donations. I happily gave them some money. They tried to give me some trinket to wear or something. I said "no, thank you though. I'm fine with just donating the money." It became this whole thing that he acted like I was embarrassed for folks to know that I donated. Can't you just do something nice, without having to tell the world that you're doing it?

You know like in situations where someone wants to pay for your dinner, and you're flattered but you say it isn't necessary, then they get upset and all that stuff yadda yadda. So anyway how about this Fight for the Cure thing, how about some tag lines. "We kick ass to save yours!" ::cricketss:: Oh well.
