I don't think I watched much SmackDown during this time period, and so all I remember is that he was really sad that his celebration was interrupted and that he constantly held the belt upside down. Was it really as bad as people say it was?

Yeah, it was. I mean it wasn't unbelievable or took you out of the show, but it was just pretty stale.

"and that he constantly held the belt upside down."
I lol'd. Yeah, he did that a lot. He also made the belt look kinda small, which sucked too.

Was it really as bad as people say it was? I have forgotten this existed, until you brought it up. Oh, and it's not like he dropped the belt,or anything. ;D

It was pretty... off?
I also just wanted to say that whoever it is on this forum whose sig is Khali yelling and holding the belt up with the word BOTCH superimposed over it is the funniest thing ever.

I remember at the time I had a seething hatred of Batista, so I was cool with anyone not him having the belt. Of course we all know who it went to afterwards.

It sucked because he didn't hold it for very long. WWE pissed away the chance to build a legit monstrous wall that no one could climb, but instead they just made him a transition champ for Batista.

It was really bad because I'm probably a better wrestler than him.

I didn't like it because at the time Kane was the number 1 contender and was feuding with Edge who was the champ at the time.
Once Edge dropped the belt because of injury I can't see why they didn't give it to Kane for a transitional period.

Oy, I remember that Punjabi Prison match he and Batista had at Unforgiven 2007. Killed the crowd as many of them fell asleep and destroyed any chance of the PPV being salvaged.

He also made the belt look kinda small, which sucked too. So, they should only give the title to wrestlers who are perfectly proportioned to wear it?

I dunno, I didn't mind it at all. During his actual reign they booked him pretty well, and he didn't really stink up the ring like he had previously. His celebration party was hilarious, and there was un-intentional comedy had from him continually holding the title upside down. I distinctly remember one show where he walked up the ramp and made sure he was holding it the right way before lifting it into the air. It was just so funny seeing him be an evil monster, then taking himself completely out of it to make sure he was holding it the right way, then going back to evil monster.

It was No Mercy 07 I was there. The match was Horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible. I thought the crowd was still hot for the main event RK0/HHH 2.

I liked it.
Then again, I really liked EVIL SUPER MONSTER KHALI!
I hated when Triple H no sold the brain chop... and how it's not really a killer finisher anymore.
