Hell In A Cell Thoughts
Daniel Bryan vs. John Morrison vs. The Miz:
Really fun match and great opener. All 3 broke out submissions like Morrison breaking out the tarantula and the Texas Cloverleaf and Miz with the Dragon Sleeper using the rail.
Also Miz & Bryan heel hooking each other then kicking each other in the head with the other leg was awesome, then that leading into Morrison hitting Starship Pain on both was great.
Oh and Morrison stage cell dive was great.
Randy Orton vs. Sheamus:
Easily there best match and a really good back and forth match, but not a good HIAC match. Just like Cena/Orton last year.
Del Rio/Edge/Swagger Segment:
I don’t like segments on PPV, but if there good it’s fine. Problem was this wasn’t fine and took way to long to set up Swagger/Edge.
Edge vs. Jack Swagger:
I thought Edge was going to win in 5 or so minutes, but it got around 12 and was a good match. I wish it was built better though.
John Cena vs. Wade Barrett:
I questioned how well they’d work together, but they worked together fine. It was a really good back and forth match with the excitement of which way it was going to go.
After Otunga’s “plan” promo backstage before the match I though Cena was winning, then after RAW & SD! beatdown Nexus I really thought Cena was winning, but WWE got me and Barrett won.
I’m glad they got me because Barrett winning was the right call and made for a better storyline.
Michelle McCool vs. Natalya:
This was a good match and the Sharpshooter countered into a hell hook back into a Sharpshooter was a really cool spot and would’ve a really cool finish, but nope Layla throwing a shoe ruined that.
It sucked this match didn’t get time or a finish, but it looks like the feud with continue, so I hope a Bragging Rights they get time.
Kane vs. The Undertaker.
Some people will find it boring, but just like at NOC I really liked this match. To me this felt more like a HIAC, though not a great one and it did get slow in the middle, but the story surrounding this match is really good and WWE has done a great job with it in my opinion and that continued tonight with Kane winning.
Yes the Bearer turn was kind of predictable, but it was well done with the Taker power looking like it was going to win only for Paul to open the urn and shine the light in Taker’s eyes and Kane hitting him with the urn and a chokeslam.
I’m loving this feud right now.
Overall:
I liked this PPV a lot minus the long ass Del Rio/Edge/Swagger segment and the lame Diva’s finish.
With all that said, WWE needs to get rid of the HIAC PPV or use it better. Orton/Cena last year & Orton/Sheamus hurt the HIAC gimmick.
