Ugh, ok, listen folks: if somebody posts what happened in the election, that's ok, because that's just reporting facts, not politics.
I do NOT want any debate on the election here, I do NOT want any arguing about it, and ANY discussion of it is to be done within the framework of the WWE and it's creative direction itself, not the state of CT, not the US Senate, etc. This thread honestly hasn't gotten all political, so I've had no trouble with it, but I'll come back later and hopefully it's remained that way.

I am proud to stand up for them. As political as it all is, I am pretty glad they are defending themselves.
Our business has never, and probably never will, be understood by the mainstream set of people. I'm hoping them showing these videos brings people aware to just how great of a thing it is.

Linda lost then? Hopefully, this isn't a "political" question, because I don't mean for it to be, but how good were her chances in the first place?

The entire WWE campaign will have been entirely worth it if on Smackdown or next week's Raw if we have a promo which has the announcer going :
"Stand up for WW- ah who cares?"

I've heard they weren't all that great though. She lost by a pretty decent amount but it wasn't like, ridiculously in favor of the opponent or anything. (is that too political? I'm trying to just state facts, sorry if it's too far, delete this if it is!)

Yes, Linda lost by a 54%-44% margin (which is something of a blowout in voting terms). The polls had her somewhat close after the primary win bump, but it was Blumenthal's race to lose for most of the season.
WWE.com's still running Stand Up For WWE promos on it. Don't think they'll keep it up now that WWE will be safely ignored again since Linda's not running for office anymore.
(NOTE: This post is not meant to be a political one. Just statin' the facts, ma'am.)

(NOTE: This post is not meant to be a political one. Just statin' the facts, ma'am.) See I'm not sure Linda's political ambitions are over. Sure she's out for this election cycle, but she could start setting herself up for a future run someday. Either way, I don't think this is the end of WWE's PG era. Maybe they'll be a bit more loose with the sexuality and blood, but if Linda still has political hopes then one would think the WWE will still be kid-friendly going forward. I kind of think the Stand Up for the WWE campaign is ridiculous. Politics has a way of misrepresenting things to fit soundbytes, but that's not to say people who criticize the WWE have no valid points regarding content or treatment of their workers, for example.

I think alot of these Stand Up promos were a way of the WWE trying to get something from their $50 million dollar investment, since it became obvious in the past two weeks that Linda was done. Now it becomes less about her losing, and more about the WWE standing up to the big evil gov't.

I don't feel the need to stand up for WWE. Their pack of lawyers do that well enough, and unlike me, they get paid for it. Though did anyone catch how they tried to pass out WWE merch near polling places yesterday before the federal government said "Cut that out!" and threatened criminal charges? I guess it was a last ditch effort to get some sympathy and votes for Linda, because they had to know a stunt like that is almost blatantly illegal.
