Being as it's Halloween, I was browsing some Misfits videos, and came across alter era one for "American Psycho". Tell me the intro doesn't sound like the opening of Goldust's theme:

If I was allowed to post the Goldust theme, it'd be a lil easier to listen to side by side lol

I think this song came out like a year after Goldust's theme debuted. But as others mentioned, I couldn't really see much similarity either.

Yeah...after listening to the into to American Psycho (great album by the way....), I really don't notice any similarities between both songs.

Don't really hear it, but someone really should use "Abominable Dr. Phibes" (that's what the instrumental intro here is called) as an entrance theme. And yeah, Goldust's theme debuted like two years before this song was even released.

I can hear the similarities, the first few seconds of the intros are almost identical

I can hear some minor similarities, but Goldust's theme wouldn't have any Misfits influence since Goldust's theme debuted a few years before this song was released. There's a Youtube video of Goldust's debut on Raw in 1995 where he has his theme, and this album was released in 1997.

If you think about it, both Goldust and The Misfits are steeped, tempered if you will, in old-school Hollywood. So, it kinda makes sense that both would use the "cinematic drum roll" as part of their respective songs. Don't really hear it, but someone really should use "Abominable Dr. Phibes" (that's what the instrumental intro here is called) as an entrance theme. And yeah, Goldust's theme debuted like two years before this song was even released. Vampiro in WCW used it while he was with the Misfits "Kong At The Gates" as well.

I have this album and I've never heard any similarities. I think Goldust's theme is older anyway.

Sounds more like the evolution theme.

On the other hand, The Rock's theme totally sounds like the music in the Olive Garden commercial.

The Misfits blow and Danzig goes down like a baby.

ERROR! Danzig goes down like a baby. People seem to like bringing this up when disparaging Danzig, and while funny, a punch from the hulking mass that is Danny Marianino would put just about anybody down.
