Though he is curious what John Beck can do, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Rex Grossman will be the Redskins' quarterback "unless something happens."
"As I mentioned before, we play these games to win," Shanahan said. "Rex is going to be our quarterback. Unless something happens, [Beck] won't get an opportunity." Though he did make some mistakes, Grossman played surprisingly well against the Cowboys. He'll remain under center for the final two games, with Donovan McNabb being demoted from starter to third stringer.

According to CSNwashington.com's Ryan O'Halloran, Donovan McNabb said at least three times in a radio interview Tuesday that he wants to be back with the Redskins in 2011.

Picks for next week:
Steelers over Panthers Cowboys over Cardinals Bills over Patriots (it's a TRAP~!) Jets over Bears (I think the Bears are a better team, but they clinched division so they don't need to really show up) Chiefs over Titans Jaguars over Redskins Lions over Dolphins Rams over 49ers Ravens over Browns Texans over Tebows, erm, Broncos Raiders over Colts Chargers over Bengals Seahawks over Buccaneers Giants over Packers (provided the team doesn't collapse in the middle of the 4th Quarter again) Eagles steamroll Vikings Saints break Atlanta's winning streak

Eagles placed FS Nate Allen (torn patellar tendon) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Coach Mike Singletary said Tuesday that he knows which quarterback will start at St. Louis, but he's keeping the decision confidential for now.

According to CSNwashington.com's Ryan O'Halloran, Donovan McNabb said at least three times in a radio interview Tuesday that he wants to be back with the Redskins in 2011. As an Eagles fan, I gotta say... Donovan McNabb is the Will Smith of NFL QBs. He's hardly the best at his profession but he's still great and is a nice guy all around. From T.O. to getting traded to Philly to whatever else, he's barely ever had anything negative to say. And, of course, he's going to want to be back with the Redskins. He signed a pretty sweet extension but it has an escape clause... of course he wants to make that money and avoid learning new terminology. And I don't follow the Redskins closely, but I really imagine he won't be there next year. Shanny seems content on finding his next Elway and with all the crap he has to deal with (Snyder... Haynesworth, etc.) I think he realizes some drastic moves need to be made. Whether it be a youth movement or journeyman or what have you. But the 'Skins (and Cowboys and Seahawks) are near the top of the list in spending and what do they have to show for it? They're 5-6 win teams (and that's being generous to the Hawks as they're in the NFC West.) Then take a look at teams at the bottom of the spending lists like the Bucs, Chiefs and Jags... who are 9-5, 8-6 win teams. At some point, I think, you gotta realize that you need to keep a lot of guys hungry. That's why I alot of the better teams in the NFL tend to trade or release players rather than overpaying.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee and Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area both interpret coach Mike Singletary's Tuesday comments as suggesting that Alex Smith will start at St. Louis with a short leash this week.
After expressing frustration with the Redskins in Week 14, impending free agent Santana Moss now says he wants to re-sign this offseason.
