Yeah I can only watch it once during the whole marathon, otherwise I'd get sick of it quickly.
FRA-GEE-LEH! ...It must be Italian!

One of these days I'm going to visit the house where the movie was filmed. Ideally I would do it during one of the yearly conventions.
And get this: there was an eBay auction in which you could spend Christmas Eve and Day in the house! If I had money to blow I definitely would have placed a bid!
One of my favorite films, for sure.

Only I said the word... the f--- word. Is that what you said? Thought so, get in the car! Family tradition to watch it, and therefore I will.

With CoCo now part of the TBS family I'm surprised there isn't some sort of crossover (like maybe a cast reunion) yet.

As much as I love it, I can go four/five years now w/out seeing it and be fine as much as I've seen it in the last couple.

Hard to believe that kid is now a producer - and has a cameo in Iron Man.
I like this movie a lot. This and Christmas Vacation I can watch year in, year out without a problem.

Well that's still better than most attempts at reunions. Even if the 2 in question are pretty important to the movie (1 being a lead actor and the other cowrote the script as well as being the author of the short story in which the movie was based). But everyone but 2 is better than getting no one but 2 people. Also if they can't have a reunion, then just bring on Scotty Schwartz and a reunion of his costars from the porn he starred in when his Hollywood career spun out as "Plan B" for the Christmas Story reunion.

Stupidly, watched it a few days back. Still, I'm sure I'll catch a showing. Its extremely confusing to me why THIS is the movie that gets the marathons... I totally love it, and am so glad that I caught it, weirdly, in a very late night showing in the UK about fifteen years back, but it's hardly the rosiest portrayal of Christmas.

It's been a while since I've seen this on Christmas. We go to my in-laws for the holidays, and they usually leave the TV on the Kung Fu network all day.
...don't ask.

I think I'm the only one here that absolutely hates this movie. It's just not funny to me.

Also if they can't have a reunion, then just bring on Scotty Schwartz and a reunion of his costars from the porn he starred in when his Hollywood career spun out as "Plan B" for the Christmas Story reunion. I know what you're thinking, "Oh geez, here's Mister 'I-live-in-Jean Sheppard's-hometown' guy." I live where the movie is "based" (as opposed to where it was filmed). Every year around Thanksgiving, they start the ball rolling with the annual Christmas parade. This year, the "Grand Marshalls" were the actors who played Randy, Grover Gil, Scott Farkus and Miss Shields. (No Schwartz or Flick this time, weird considering there's a Flick's Tap not too far from here - yes, the dad's "tavern" is still there but now a tequila bar and grill.. And I had no idea Miss Shields was still alive. She looked 55 when the movie was made.) That's about as good a reunion as you're going to get. They have a Christmas essay contest, ugly lamp contest (winner gets an authentic leg lamp), "Oh Fudge" father-son relay race, and "Mommy's Little Piggy" mashed potatoes eating contest. The Welcome Center has a replica of Santa's Mountain, with the big-ol' slide. Yes, we're weirdos and cling to any sort of celebrity rub we can get.
