I like the little quirk whenever I flip on TBS at any time during the marathon: Let's say when I first flip it on, Flick gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole. I'll turn it to something else and get lost in that, do something around the house, etc. Next time I flip TBS on, I'll be darned it's where Miss Shields decides "the punishment" is writing a theme, "What I Want For Christmas". It's almost like I paused it and it started up again when I turned the station back on.

Here's something I've always wondered about it though:
How come none of the other stories with these characters ever made it to film like this story did?
I know there was at least one other story with Ralphie in it...one where he is older and goes to either middle or high school, and deals with a math class he has no clue about.

I know they adapted another Jean Shepard story but I honestly can't remember what it was called.

Clarke said that the studio waited too long to do it.

There was also Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss (I forgot the correct spelling) with Jerry O'Connell.

Man that Schwartz kid sure got a beat down. I'm surprised he wasn't waiting for Ralphie the next day at school.
here's the scene (including "oh fudge")
