Especially considering the endless parade of sequels and remakes.

Not sure if its the most original film from this past decade, but the wrestler is pretty original when you compare it to other films that based plot on wrestling. It wasn't a parody of wrestling fans looking like marks or portrayed wrestling as an idiotic carnival show, but instead focused on a more real life happenings of one working within the business, not being able to escape the spotlight to retire and being away from family for so long. So yeah, it was really neat to see something different. I think you could Scott Pilgrim vs The World in there too for original movie.

Probably one of Charlie Kaufman's bizarre flicks, or maybe one of Nolan's mindf*** movies.

Amelie, Pan's Labyrinth or District 9
All very different, all worthwhile watching.

On another note, despite being an adaptation, I'd say Scott Pilgrim is pretty damned original. I mean, what movie can shift from awkward teen romance film, to a martial arts chop-socky fun fest, complete with video game influenced tropes and such?

I thought Pans Labyrinth was good but I wouldn't say it was all that unique. Then again it's been years since I've seen it.
Most unique film I can think of was The Butterfly Effect, was excellant and can't really remember seeing any similar storylines to that anywhere before.
Also, I'll agree with whoever said District 9. Wasa nice twist on the whole alien movie genre.

Harold and Kumar was more original than most people want to give it credit for.
