I am looking at buying a new Xbox and have a few questions. 1. Do I really need 250gb if I am going to just use it for gaming? 2. Do they still have an overheating problem? any help is appreciated.

not heard much from people at work about over heating.
250 gb is probably best if you're going to play online or download a lot of content for games.

I've never heard anything about the Slims overheating so far.
And honestly, 250GB isn't the best choice, it's the only choice. If you only get the 4GB model, you'll run out of space on the hard drive in no time.

Sadly, yeah. 4GB is too little and 250 is more than most need. I run a 120 old school and only use 60-ish and that's because I load a lot of games right to the HD (especially all the ones I play online) because my DVD drive sucks. I have a good bit of arcade stuff too but honestly... most of it is pretty small.
But shelling out the $100 extra for the HD is well worth it. Especially since the new HD's are over that price and the bundles for the Elite 360's are better/more often. The current Forza 3/Alan Wake isn't a bad deal. I haven't heard any news on what the next will be. Usually they do a Spring, though, in time for tax returns.

My old Xbox finally died a few weeks back so I had to get a new one. I got a 250GB one and so far it's been smooth sailing. I wish it would have came with a free game though.

I got a 20 GB 360 and I don't DL a lot of DLC, a few demos, and the occasional XBLA game and I seem to keep 6 GB of memory to spare. So yeah if you are going to DL some stuff probably get the larger one
