Does this show get better as it goes on? I'm two or three episodes into the first season and it really doesn't seem as good as it was hyped up to be. At least not yet. Tell me it gets better. So far everything just seems like a real dick. Even the cops who aren't suppose to be the dicks in the show. And I don't mean the cussing or any of that. Just the way they go about things is exactly what people hate about cops. A good show I loved all the way through until the final season where they ran out of ideas was Oz. I was hooked from the first episode. Same thing with Sons Of Anarchy.

Yes indeed it gets better, the first few episodes are pretty dull. Fantastic series.

i was hooked from the start, but it definatly gets better. Series 4 is in my humble opinion, the best series of a show ever. Stick with it and you will be rewarded

I've only seen up to most of Season 2, but stick with it, it gets better.
The first season of Oz wasn't very good til around the middle of the season, and that show ended up being amazing.

Your patience will be rewarded, it is not like any other show you've seen. I say this with full confidence, it is the greatest show ever to grace the small screen. After the first season you will think it's the greatest cop show ever made, after the fourth, you'll realize it's the best television show ever made.

Thus making him the most credible wrestle-actor ever. to be honest, its not like he acts, he just stands around in the background looking tough

I thought it was great, although by the middle of the 1st season I was hooked. I loved all the seasons, although I thought the last season was the weakest. Still worth watching though.
IMO, the seasons go in order of greatness:
Season 1 Season 3 Season 4 Season 2 Season 5

Season 2 is criminally underrated, but every season is great. A lot of the cops are dicks but not all of them. The Wire shows the cops and the criminals maneuvering each other. You will cheer for some of the cops and some of the criminals and hate them the same way.

It takes a few episodes, but really picks up about midway through the first season.

Best cop show ever, period. Besides it has Bubbles and Omar.
For the Wire fans here, you should all watch The Corner. Good show. It's kind of the goo The Wire spawned from.

I ranked them as 3, 1, 4, 2 and 5. And I really liked 2. 5 isn't the same standard as we knew it was the end, and it was shorter.

Ive tried ranking the Wire seasons several times, but I always end up with different results (well, aside from 5 being last). 3, 2, 1, 4, 5 is what im going with right now.

I say this with the utmost sincerity: The Wire is easily the best show in television history. The attention to detail and realism particularly, but really, everything is amazing. When you step back and look at it, it almost makes other shows, even good ones, seem inadequate. And that run of Seasons 3&4 is the best stretch of episodes in TV history, the zenith of the medium.
Donut may be the greatest TV character ever who has like 10 lines throughout the entire series.
