The description is interesting as far as it goes, but hell you can't get anything from that trailer at all.

Cant wait for this. Red State will be the cheapest movie Smith has made since Chasing Amy and I think that will free him up creatively.

Ummm, ya. If I didnt listen to his podcasts and know a bit about the movie, I'd think it looks dumb as hell. That may very well be the worst trailer I've ever seen

I've been looking forward to this ever since I heard about it and I thought the subject matter sounded interesting. Also I've been interested in this movie just because I wanna see if someone whose been able to make me laugh so much can make react just to his work just as much on the other end of the spectrum.

I'm definitely intrigued at Smith attempting such a radical departure. At the last couple Q & A's I've seen him do in Red Bank, he's been gung ho about this flick, so hopefully it shows in the final result.
I'm also just itching for him to get cracking on "Hit Somebody", the hockey movie he's supposed to have in the pipeline.

Looks like it's not a comedy. Which will be a first for Smith. Well, if you don't count 96% of Jersey Girl, 75% of Chasing Amy and 72.384% of the first Clerks.

And judging by the mathematics, Scotty Steiner, is that you? Edit: I didn't even get to see the trailer since it's been pulled by the user. Oh well ...

Looks like it could be good. I was a huge Kevin Smith fan from the time Clerks came out, but kinda jumped off the View Askew bandwagon around the time Zack and Miri came out. Maybe Red State could be a comeback of sorts for him.
But I really hate the title.

Its weird, I don't even really like Kevin Smiths movies all that much, but I love nearly all of his podcasts, listening to his life/career stories, and watching documentaries about his career/movies. I've been listening to his Red State of the Union thing, and I thought the first teaser with the "I fear the lord" thing was awesome. I really want to see this. BTW, I think the trailer was actually made by Smith. Or maybe I misheard...

I'm not the biggest horror movie fan. However, I'm a massive Smith fan. I'm hoping that this will be excellent.

Site's blocked at work. What's this movie about? Official plot synopsis: Red State begins by following three horny high-school boys who come across an online ad from an older woman looking for a gang bang. Boys being boys, they hit the road to satisfy their libidinal urges. But what begins as a fantasy takes a dark turn as they come face-to-face with a terrifying 'holy' force with a fatal agenda.

I'm impressed. It actually looks like it has personality, and I haven't been really smitten with a new Kevin Smith film in years (even if I'm never abandoning my screenname).

Sounds interesting. For me, Clerks and Clerks 2 are leagues above anything else he's done. This stylistic shift is welcome and could show a return to good form after several misfires.

I've read A LOT about this beforehand and have been waiting for this for years. That being said my first impression are kind of disappointment. It just looks like a fairly generic take on "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," but with John Goodman.
