I know this kid gets a lot of flack for being awful, and maybe it's because I love most top 40 stuff but I don't think he's that bad at all. Maybe I'm missing something, but he certainly isn't worse than previous teen idols that we've had, like these for example (IMO of course). www.youtube.com/watchv=y0p3jn7ODucGranted I'm not a huge fan, but he doesn't deserve the murderer of pop music tag that some have given him. Just kidding. I stopped caring about "Bieber-Fever"(ugh....) a few months ago.
The one thing that DOES infuriate me is he's in a movie, as himself, about himself next year. The dude is only 16 and he's already getting biopics/bio-documentaries, and writing autobiographies/memoirs.
That just rubs me the wrong way.

Wait. Are you implying that a lot of people hates Justin Bieber just because it's the cool thing to do, and have never heard some of his music??? Now that's a shock.
I don't really care about the guy. I don't like his music, but that's not a reason to hate him.

I am mostly indifferent towards him, but I do respect him. I could not care any less for his music, but there are some songs from him that I don't mind. Besides, what I am going to say couldn't be anymore closer to the truth. If this were the late 90s or 2000 at most, it would be NSYNC or Backstreet Boys being the scapegoat that Justin Bieber is these days. If YouTube existed then, lots of people would be bashing them and comparing them to the so-called better acts of the past. Please, why even compare Bieber to acts of the past? He is just some pop singer who gets a following from young girls.

Eh, I don't hate Bieber, he just has a bad haircut. I'll let him have his time because I'm sure it's running out.
With that said, a part of me enjoys the Jonas Bros.

I don't despise him cuz it's the "cool" thing to do. I can't stand him cuz his music is the same top 40 autotuned tripe that infests radio these days, he has a stupid haircut, and all reports on him are that he's a colossal douchebag behind the scenes who's completely bought into his own hype.
Also, I'm Canadian, and he makes me more ashamed to say that than Celine Dion.
But, to each his own. For his sake, I hope he saves some money.

Well..he isn't that good...but I don't completely hate him either. The fact that he has a Lamborghini as his first car does make me go 'ugh' but we have seen things like this. If they have talent or not is completely opinion. Now look at the Jonas Brothers. Are they talked about that much as opposed to 3 years ago? No.Not really. Heck I think one of them is married now o.O And to the era of Boy Bands that was the 90's and early 2000's ... they could actually sing/harmonize...unlike Bieber who sometimes uses Autotune ..the BSB still can sing great today But eh...I look at it like this.. when I was about 9, 10 years old..people bashed Jesse McCartney..and sure he isn't talked about that much..but he still sings..so even if Justin's popularity goes down..he will maybe still sing 5 years from now... I would never have imagined Jesse singing like this : to this : o.O well his fans grew up and so did he |

i believe the majority of people who hate bieber dont hate him but rather what is caused because of him as Gravedigger alluded to before.
honestly how many people here hate that they hear of him constantly especially on youtube? thats my biggest peeve with him. let him have his time in the spotlight but honestly i agree the haters are much much more annoying than bieber

There is nothing wrong with Bieber in terms of ability, it's just the stuff that is produced for him isnt stuff I'd like to listen to.
If you listen to him from years ago simply singing, he clearly has talent and can sing very well, which is more than some of the previous teen idols, and certainly more than One Direction, a Bieber clone band who showed up on the UK's X-Factor talent TV show recently.
My main issue comes from the fact that the kid seems in some interviews to have bought into his own hype, and I never like people who do that as when you see interviews with people like Daniel Radcliffe say, it's quite possible to be absolutely huge and everywhere and not become an arrogant toss pot.

I think the main issue the Bieber dislikers have is how all forms of media are saying: LOOK AT HIM! WHY ARE YOU NOT LOOKING AT HIM! ARE YOU HITLER!?!? BIEBER FEEEEEVER!
Also there is the whole diva thing.
Granted this is nothing new, but he is the current overpushed thingy of the month.
