Profit and ratings were the two best answers so far. And the dude above me that said cogent storylines. Well because, he said cogent and that's impressive.

To this day, I think that Samoa Joe spot is the dumbest, most pointless spot in TNA history. I agree. And there's been some pretty stiff competition. Joe was incredibly lucky not to have his tailbone shoot out of his mouth. One time where a well-padded ass can be a saviour. The TNA buffet helps out another competitor.

Joe should have taken one look around the half empty arena and thought better of it. He's a great entertainer, regardless. It just wasn't worth risking possibly crippling himself for a spot like that. How'd he think it would turn out? jumping on jagged steps and a guard railing I thought Joe was smarter than Vic Grimes & saner than New Jack

A reason to watch next week, given in the form of a statement. The reason to tune in next week is almost always given as a question nowadays. Next week, Joe gets to go one on one with Jeff Jarrett, tune in to see the outcome. is now Will Joe get some measure of revenge on Jarrett? Tune in next week to find out. Instead of tuning in to see a match, we're being asked to tune in next week on the offchance that we MIGHT get a match, if we're lucky. I have to agree.

Since he's been mentioned a few times.......I must have missed that story but what does Bischoff have against Christopher Daniels?

Young talent being pushed. Seem's alittle familiar? Money, profit, fame. Sold out arena's. Competing against the WWE. A 2.0 rating. Matches that don't end in dumb finishes. Bishoff and Hogan taking putting young talent over. Young talent in the main event. A face stabel to try to take down Immortal. Thoroughly enjoyable storylines that keep you on the edge of your seats and make you want to watch a PPV. Pay Per Veiw build.
What I can see is the same thing that happened in WCW as the young talent leaves because they don't wanna take a back seat to the former WWE talent.
Also, I can see TNA talent being held down and former WWE talent getting all the glory.
You would think since WCW died with Bishoff's pushing of older talent and holding down the younger one, he would try the opposite.

Remember back when he was trying to buy WCW back (with the Fusient media group) and he said among the first things he was going to do was "phase out the old guys, build on the younger talent, make the titles mean something, cut back on expenses"?(Source: PWTorch.)
Yeah, I didn't believe that either. What you say and what you do are two different things, and this guy just hasn't learned anything except how to turn fans away from something we enjoy by making us feel like idiots for supporting such drivel.

You know, at this point, I swear people see different versions of iMPACT, cause I honestly have no clue where everyone sees all the "old guys" burying younger talent.

You know, at this point, I swear people see different versions of iMPACT, cause I honestly have no clue where everyone sees all the "old guys" burying younger talent. Aside from a few isolated incidents, which were designed to get young talent over but didn't happen due to stuff like injury and Scott Hall getting himself arrested which was outwith their control, you're right. How about that, I actually agree with you.

I think the point that guy is trying to make is the number of "retreads" in the company from elsewhere, not actual "old" guys. They just "seem old" because they've been on the other company's programs for so long. It's "TV age". (All companies are guilty of this, not just a TNA issue.)
But, that is a Bischoff staple and we've come to expect that. If the appeal of a star from a certain world-wide promotion can bring fans to our little oasis, why not use it? It is quite novel to see if a certain guy can use what he's built up elsewhere (considered "old guys" by TNA fans) to help a different company, even if it happens to take time away from "TNA Originals" (whom are considered "the young guys").
(Now, I can understand why we're tired of Jeff Jarrett. Even with time away his name was constantly mentioned on TV as if he never left.)
(Edit: My point was how Eric would say one thing to build trust and just not follow through. So you'd find out Eric would get into TNA and he would talk about how he would put all the faith in the world on the roster. But he can't go 10 minutes without sticking his mug on TV.)
