Stryker, whenever you get the chance, look at the chart and fix it. You have Junkenstien and lodirulz mixed up in Place.

My thoughts from Round 1:
Rankings:
1st: Aerosmith- Dude (Looks Like a Lady) 2nd: KISS- Modern Day Delilah 3rd: The Cranberries- Linger 4th: Poets of the Fall- Locking Up the Sun 5th: MGMT- Time to Pretend 6th: Saliva- Ladies and Gentlemen 7th: Billy Joel- You May Be Right 8th: Talking Heads- Take Me to the River 9th: Damien Rice- Volcano 10th: Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey- Endless Love 11th: Motley Crue- Hooligan's Holiday 12th: The Decemberists- Rise to Me 13th: Katie Melua- A Moment of Madness
Thoughts on the Round: -Overall, a good round for most of you. -One of you brought out the big guns, which may hurt you at a later date. That would be Aerosmith. -For the next four songs, they were almost all on an equal plane. However, KISS did a little more for me (as I've never had that song before), so it did just a touch better. -The middle songs (6th-10th) were okay. They weren't exactly great per se, but you did enough to keep you away from my ire. -Hooligan's Holiday was probably the wrong song from the Crue. They've had better songs earlier in their work that could have been chosen with better results. -A Moment of Madness and Rise To Me felt lethargic in a round where you need to get off on the right foot. This did not impress me.

Endless Love- I Agree with Square. The first round is supposed to be right out of the gate good, not go for the ballad. It would've been a good choice for another round, but not now Ladies and Gentlemen- I agree, It's kinda lost its touch after it was overplayed when it first came out, however, there is still that epic feel to it. Good Job. A Moment Of Madness- I agree with Square, and the only reason it scored so low is because of other songs that I felt were better. This song reminded me of 5 different styles at once (Amy Winehouse mixed with Sweeney Todd mixed with the musical Chicago). Good Job You May Be Right- The only reason I liked it was because I can somewhat relate to the song, and I loved the performance itself. As much as I agree with Square on the drunken karaoke part, theres a slight charm in the song that I like. Great job Hooligan's Holiday- Sorry Crash, me and you are best buds, so I can be brutally honest....You fell on your face here Take Me To The River- Its a good song per say, just not my cup of tea. Dude- I'm sorry. I don't mind Aerosmith, I was even dumb enough to buy Guitar Hero Aerosmith. This song though was just.....just.....ugh. Rise To Me- Its not that this isn't a beautiful song.....Its just long, boring, and drawn out. The first time I was listening, I tapped out around the first minute mark because I was falling asleep. Lyrically its good, but the execution was just painful on my part and I'm sorry for my opinion on that Linger- Unlike Square, I actually enjoyed this piece. I fell in love with the song, and it struck so many nerves on me. Great Job. Modern Day Dellilah- Now, here's where I might be a hypocrite. A couple of seasons ago, someone chose Rock and Roll All Nite, and I said it was quite possibly one of the worst songs I have ever heard in my life, and that I would probably never like KISS because in my view they were a bunch of overrated old men, which I still hold somewhat true. I hate alot of their liked stuff....but this song was special. I liked the feel that it gave me, it reminded me of a simpler time in the 80's when Hair Metal ruled the airwaves, I fell for the riff, the rhythm, the solo, everything about this song I liked.....The words might have been meh, but the way they executed it in song form was brilliant. Great Job in getting me to actually listen to a KISS song all the way through. Volcano- Another Hypocrite Moment, but I can explain this one. I said earlier with Rise to Me, was just that it was too slow in performance, and in a sense, so is this song. However, the way his vocals are just eerie kept my attention. The words grasped me and held me and never let go. I loved her vocals too, but it was his voice that kept me in the song. Great Choice, just outshined by others. Locking up The Sun- Win. I love this style of music, and I just was hypnotized by everything about it. In my view, this was the best song of the round....well, this and.... Time To Pretend- ....This. Its so poppish, and so addicting. I can vibe to this song all day, and it could cheer me up in an instant. If it wasn't for Locking up the Sun, this would've been my #1. Excellent Job. Locking Up The Sun Modern Day Delilah Time to Pretend Linger You May Be Right Ladies and Gentlemen Volcanos A Moment of Madness Dude (Looks Like a Lady) Take Me To The River Hooligans Holiday Endless Love Rise to Me I'm curious about something. In your detailed opinions of the songs your opinion on the Aerosmith song is more negative then your opinion on the Talking Heads song but on the song ranking at the bottom you rank the Aerosmith song one spot higher then the Talking Heads song?

In your detailed opinions of the songs your opinion on the Aerosmith song is more negative then your opinion on the Talking Heads song but on the song ranking at the bottom you rank the Aerosmith song one spot higher then the Talking Heads song? It all goes back to how you open up the compitition....You have a somewhat upbeat song in Aerosmith vs. A nice, calm, relaxing song in The Talking Heads. Heres the thing, and I hope to not offend anyone, but both: Dont Bring Anything New in my view Dont Sound like songs I would ever actually listen to....except.... Except for the fact that The Talking Heads song actually has great lyrics....just wasn't executioned right in my view. Had it been in another style, then it could've possibly worked. To me though, it wasn't good. Thats what brought that down. For Aerosmith, it falls under what happened with KISS this round. The words are meh, but its still executioned well, especially with the solo. So, even though both scored low for me, it was Slow song with good lyrics, but couldn't keep my attention vs. Upbeat Old Rock Song where the words just don't grab my attention, and in a very close battle, Aerosmith won. Hopefully, that makes sense

I'm really glad "Modern Day Delilah" went over well, as soon as I sent in I knew it could've been a risk. A newer KISS song, I wasn't sure how it would be received, I'm very relieved

Here are the entries for round 2. The judges have the songs. One person didn't get their entry in again, so they'll be the eliminated contestant in this round. This also means the scores will be carried over for a second time into the next round, unless anybody has any serious objections for that contingency plan.

Added the complete list of all songs to Pg 4's Stryker's post, as I've seen a couple songs used before. Lucky the judges are nicer this time around when it comes to doing that. I'll be adding songs already used in The current competition to Stryker's Post #1.

stryker you should warn when someone gets the same band.It can make the judges score down for then, and that really sucks, mainly to the one that got first

Finished with my judging. A few of you knocked it out of the park, a few of you should be original more often, and one of you committed a rule violation that automatically knocked your song to last place.

stryker you should warn when someone gets the same band.It can make the judges score down for then, and that really sucks, mainly to the one that got first The judges won't score down for the same artist in the same round, only a choice of the same artist in a later round. Oh and thanks Sudden Rush for your help in listing those songs. As all 13 songs are in, the next round (which will also be our first duets round) will start the scoring from scratch again. CONTESTANTS ARE REMINDED TO HAVE A 'SING OFF' SONG READY. IT CAN BE ANY SONG FROM ANY ERA (standard song selection rules apply), BUT YOU WILL NEED IT IF YOU END UP IN THE BOTTOM 2!
