So I'm heading to my favorite CD shop (it's a Rasputin, for those who live in the area!) today, in about 3 or 4 hours. The problem is that I've just realized I'm not sure what I want to get, and this is the only chance I'll get to go to this store in several months. I've got a $40 gift card, so if I do it right I can 5 or 6 CDs, or maybe a wrestling DVD or two (sometimes they have ROH:))
I'm looking to expand my punk CD collection, which isn't nearly big enough. I want to get some bands I don't have CDs of already, but off the top of my head my brain's not working enough to list anything right now...
Basically, just throw out some bands and albums that are good, I don't care if it's obscure or well known or what... I'm not picky. I'm basically hoping that people will list shit and I'll go "oh duh, I need that!".
...In other words, I'm asking you people to supplement for my brain, because it isn't working AT ALL today.

Can't help you out Most of the punk I listen to was recorded before 1990. And a lot of it isn't really that good ...

I'd agree with Bake Or Die, except I'd go for London Calling by The Clash instead of Never Mind The Bollocks

Husker Du: Zen Arcade. Anything by Fugazi really. Minor Threat is a must have for punk fans. Black Flag's early stuff. I have one of their later albums on vinyl, but I never listen to it. If you can find OFF!'s First for EPs that would be good although, I have only been able to find it listed on vinyl which i really want to get.

If you have a record player, I must insist you search for "The Record" by FEAR. Something about owning it on CD just sounds wrong to me.
Get something from The Damned, as well. They're pretty good.
Maybe Amen's self-titled CD. I think there's like 8 different bands with that name, so look for the song "When a Man Dies a Woman" and you should be alright. Sorta punk/metal, though.

Distillers - Sing Sing Death House Lords of the New Church - Lords of the New Church (the first album is way more punky then there second album "is nothing sacred")
best of the UK Subs..or any UK Subs kinda compliation...caus honestly, alot of there albums are all filled with crap save for like 2 songs, so a best of compilation will give you the good stuff from them.
Green Jello - 333
Black Flag - the first 4 years...its the best black flag album.

The Living End- The Living End
Great album with a number of tremendous tracks on it. Does sometimes drift into rockabilly but the linked song is a common style.
Give em enough rope- The Clash
