When I say 'good' I in fact mean 'that I liked' because I honestly can't remember the last mainstream out and out comedy I enjoyed.
Dodgeball Anchorman Borat Bruno Dinner for Schmucks Jackass Any '________ Movie' Napoleon Dynamite
I couldn't finish any of those films, I thought they were awful.
The last one I can think of enjoying and finding genuinely funny was either Zoolander or Mystery Men, depending on which one was released more recently.
In the Loop I loved, but I don't think that was particularly mainstream.
I've seen others I didn't like in that time that I didn't feel it necessary to list. So have I missed any hidden classics?

Hangover, Hot Fuzz and Shawn of the Dead I couldn't finish either, really didn't like them.
I was told there is some very coarse humour in Forgetting Sarah Marshall which makes it a no-go for me.

Zombieland?

If it's horror based it might not particularly be my thing, but having read a couple of write ups just now, Zombieland might be worth a look, so long as it isn't too horror-y.

"Kicking and Screaming" is pretty funny and isn't especially vulgar or violent.

I was told there is some very coarse humour in Forgetting Sarah Marshall which makes it a no-go for me. What? Form your own opinions. And not to seem dickish, but you write for a media site. How would I possibly take you seriously if you stay way from films just based on what someone tells you? You're kind of making it your job to drink in as much media as possible. But again, my favorite movie of all time is Anchorman, so what do I know?

But again, my favorite movie of all time is Anchorman, so what do I know? Well,if he doesn't like coarse and vulgar humor, why wouldn't he want to stay away if someone told him that a certain movie was like that? I don't like comedies that contain a lot of language and nudity. Hence,I didn't like The Hangover,Forgetting Sarah Marshall, etc. Normally,I try to avoid Todd Phillips and Judd Apatow's comedies in general especially if they have an R rating. I did like Anchorman but it was PG-13 and didn't contain too much language. I can handle some language but I don't like just constant swearing and if someone tells me that it contains a lot of language/nudity,I normally avoid it. I'm in no way saying people can't enjoy that type of stuff. It's just not for me and apparently not for Stryker in some cases. And if someone tells me beforehand that a movie is full of f-bombs just for the sake of being funny,I would appreciate the heads up.

Away We Go is one of my favs. Can't go wrong with John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph... also... Allison Janney and Jim Gaffigan's appearances are a thing of beauty.
I too will suggest Role Models... and if you tried it and didn't like that one either... throw in the towel.

I can't help you with this list, because everyone finds different things funny. Most of the comedies that my friends tout as funny I find borefests. I do agree with you that Anchorman, Borat, Any _______ movie, and Napoleon Dynamite were crap. Never saw Bruno, but I liked Dodgeball. And you liked Zoolander and Mystery Men, but I found both of those movies to be gawdawful wastes of time.
Comedy depends on ones taste. But judging by how I thought about 2 movies you liked, I wouldn't be able to help you pick a movie that you find funny. Good luck.

Ever see Midnight Run? There's some cursing, but not a lot of sex based or crude humor.
