But Quagmire is upfront & actually takes pride in his behavior. Brian is basically a condescending, sanctimonious fake. I still can't believe this is an argument point. He is a rapist. Who would take a rapist's side over anything? Its completely asinine to think that Quagmire should be praised for calling out a know it all because he owned up to being a borderline sexual offender.

There's basically no humor too tasteless for me, as I'll laugh at nearly anything, but Family Guy doesn't execute a lot of it particularly well.
Frankly, Family Guy hasn't executed many things right at all since the first time it was cancelled.
One style of joke they do that has never once made me laugh is when one character says something offensive-sounding, and a character next to them goes blank face and says something like "Wow. Really? You really wanna go on record with that?" or something to that extent. It's just...not funny at all. There's no joke involved beyond "someone just said something offensive/stupid! LOL."
Really, Family Guy was fresh and fun for it's first couple of seasons or so, but then it just turned unforgivably lazy and repetitive.

The Entire 150th Episode with the bank. It's more of a serious and disgusting point of view then a funny one.

Oh yeah, and one from the "classic" era. Right after the old lady who Brian befriended died, the doctor immediately came in and said "hey, who wants to see a dead body?". To me, that was just saying "hey, you know that character you grew to love and respect? We just inserted her for a cheap, forgettable joke".

To me, that was just saying "hey, you know that character you grew to love and respect? We just inserted her for a cheap, forgettable joke". From working with doctors I actually think that's a fairly insightful dig at the occasional dehumanization/objectification of patients.

Frankly, Family Guy hasn't executed many things right at all since the first time it was cancelled. Basically Family Guy used to try and be an actual TV show with the cutaways adding to the humor. Post-return it became a show where a bunch of things happen and all main characters are terrible people who do terrible things.

Anytime they blatantly stretch a segment/joke out, I groan. To me, it's less "HAHA this segway is so funny - the longer we do it the more absurd it gets! HILARITY!" and more "seriously, we couldn't come up with anymore content for this episode so we're making this last forever to waste time. HILARITY!"

It's hard to offend me most of the time, so the only jokes I have a problem with are some of the more tedious ones- like the "throat clearing" cutaway, or the extended Conway Twitty song (good as it was).

If anyone could actually provide a video of the "Nodding" scene from "It's A Trap" that'd be awesome. It's truly unfunny.....and really must be seen to be believed. 1. It Features EVERY major character in the scene, at least twice 2. Going on too long IS the joke....which might be fine if not for point 3. 3. It makes reference to the fact that it goes on too long. Family Guy has lost it's Self-Reference privilages, it's done the joke before...better actually....without referencing the fact that the length of the joke is the joke (The funnier method here) and at this point it's like that unfunny co-worker screaming "GET IT?" after any lame single entendre....just reeking of desperation. Mind you when one of the funniest jokes happens in the first minute or so....my expecttions aren't high.....Hell, when THE WRITERS tell you to lower your expectations within the opening scroll....you should probably expect pain. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4 asides though: 1. The Sticknipples/Turdsneeze thing isn't FG, it's "Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy" same animation team but not actually Family Guy. 2. SMFCCC also gave us this Yes it's a one joke bit.....but I think it's alright. 3. Family Guy writing seems to run on Refuge in Audacity and the Related Tropes moreso than anything right now....basically what manner of BS can we put out there call "comedy" and then claim that anyone that doesn't like it simply doesn't "get" the joke/meta-joke that we're goiung for. 4. and I like Seth MacFarlane's shows.....mostly "American Dad!" (Which has turned from Red-Headed Step-Child, to full on Black Sheep of the Animation Domination/Seth's Ego-Stroking Time Block)

That "joke" about Laura Bush. Even from a non-political viewpoint its not funny, and is one of many reasons i stopped watching. Seth really needs to lay off the political soapboxing. If he didn't stay on his soapbox he wouldn't have any material. The show has just become basically a tool for him to use so he can complain about whatever's bugging him at the moment. Why this show is still on is beyond me.

Herbert was funny the first time or 2 he showed up. Then the writers decided to beat that dead horse, then run it over, then back over it about 67 times
