I dont get the point. It's taken so seriously... Its not a competition if there are only 2 teams, its basically a wee exhibition match for a wee urn. Except we killed Cricket for England way back in the day. They literally cried out that circket was dead since some of Englands best got beaten by a pissant team from a colony.

At least it wasn't Harmison launching a ball at Mars this time round.
Plenty of days to go yet...need our bowlers to pull their finger out now. Siddle was ace but the rest of the attack wasn't so special.
I say we put a load of cricket balls down on the pitch and hope Siddle treads on one. It worked before.

I like our bowlers on Day 2. Think we'll get Australia out for 300 at the most.

Hopefully Swanny can do something, he's an amazing player, and I reckon he'll be key.
Couldn't believe Siddle last night. Fantastic. But same old England collapsing!

God, Clarke shouldn't have played if his back is in bad shape. And I have no idea why Marcus North gets to play in the Ashes, he is one of the most inconsistent players that would be up for selection and we'd get a lot more from playing Stve Smith as our second spinner.

Damn, Haddin and Hussey had a great stand. They doubled Australias score on their own.

What a great fightback from England. Two centuries and a half century from the first 3 batsmen. Looks like a draw this but you never know. Both teams are capable of a batting collapse.

Tempting fate, hopefully we've got the draw sealed. KP needs to deliver big when he comes in, Collingwood, too.

And what a draw it was. Hat-tricks and double centuries and still no winner. Only in cricket.

I just worry that neither side is good enough to take 20 wickets on these flat pitches. I reckon the series is going to end 1 - 0 England but it could go either way. Need big games now from KP and Swanny in the 2nd test.

Yeah, after that test I would say it ends up being 1-1. Both bowling attacks, particularly Australia's, will struggle to pick up 20 wickets. They said on the 1st day it would be unlikely to be a draw because of the pitch but with both teams failing to dominate with the ball this test I imagine a lot of batting to come for the rest of the series.

Cricket is no longer good for my health after that opening 15 minutes. Hussey and Watson are the right guys for Australia in this situation though and I reckon with Hussey's out and out talent combined with Watson's aggressive style they could rack up a big score.
England are bowling fantastically though, which pleases me as Jimmy Anderson has been my favourite England player for some time.

Australia 245 all out.
Brilliant day for England. If we bat well tomorrow on a what is usually a great pitch for batting we should be able to rack up a big score and put even more pressure on Australia.
Huge day tomorrow for not just this match but the entire series.

England's second innings of the first test was crazy, even more so when considering what happened in the very first over of the test. And today's play has been interesting, too.
Also, I heard a funny line from someone, that Strauss should be dropped from the team for having the lowest score in both England's innings.

Excellent start to the test match. Now let's go and build up a big lead, then declare at a good enough time that we can then go and win the match.
