I tend to ignore the NBA more than I care about it, but it's refreshing to see that ESPN's precious almighty Heat and Lakers are NOT the best team in the league heading into the "matchup of the century" on Christmas. And for this, I say "Thank You San Antonio". And thank you Boston. True dat.

The win streak is over, but Blake Griffin's double double streak is now at 17 games. Plus, he did this piece of domination.

The Bobcats and Blazers have discussed a trade centered around Gerald Wallace and D.J. Augustin in exchange for Andre Miller and Marcus Camby, sources tell Sam Amick of FanHouse.
According to Amick, the Blazers aren't very eager to do this right now.

Kings coach Paul Westphal has reportedly "all but lost his team," along with the confidence of the team's owners, the Maloof brothers.
Sacramento is 5-21 so some angst is understandable. Westphal is dealing with an immature lottery pick (DeMarcus Cousins) a hobbled star (Tyreke Evans) and a fleet of other players who may or may not fit together well.

Jealous much smaller markets? Why does it have to be jealousy? Maybe people want to hear about other teams than Los Angeles and Miami because the NBA has 28 other teams in their league, who deserve varying degrees of coverage as well. Maybe some people want to hear about teams they don't get to see on national TV almost 30 times a year, yet aren't in their local coverage area. Or maybe, some people have appreciations for other teams, and would like the national media to acknowledge that there might be superior basketball teams to the ones in Los Angeles and Miami. Here's how I see it: After the confetti settled on LA's second title in a row, a lot of coverage (rightfully) was dedicated to pontificating about if the Lakers could three-peat. And then the NWO was formed in Miami, causing an extreme paranoia about how this team would run roughshod over the league, crushing its competition on their way to a deathmatch with Los Angeles. And while many articles were typed about this, and much conversation made, when the season actually tipped off neither of those two teams has been as dominant as proclaimed by the media. At present time, there's 3 teams with superior records to both, who deserve a bit of limelight as well. TL;DR: Screw LA and Miami. There's other teams worth talking about outside of them, regardless of where they make their home arena.

There's other teams worth talking about outside of them, regardless of where they make their home arena. Ok sure, I'll give you that. It's true that LA and Miami get all the media overage, especially now since their game is two days away. Hell, even as a Laker fan i get tired of it from time to time. But the thing that annoys me about the people who follow slightly less popular teams in other cities (in any team sport mind you) complain and whine as if "the man" was holding them down in the media. You get extensive hi-lights on Sportscenter every night and once in a while you even get a reporter out to Dallas or San Antonio. What more do you want? A full sit-down interview? A whole hour dedicated to your team? Win a title (in Dallas' case) or become more exciting (in San Antonio's) and I can guarantee you that you'll get one. Just be lucky you aren't Minnesota where your essentially non-existent. Besides the fact that San Antonio and Dallas have a better record than the Lakers in December is irrelevant to me now. You come talk to me about records in April and May.

Spurs lose, but after a tough game yesterday its not surprising. Orlando played really well and we were sloppy. Hats off to Orlando, their new line-up looks pretty good. As long as we beat the Lakers and get our win back from Dallas, I'm good.

According to Amick, the Blazers aren't very eager to do this right now. Why not? I would jump all over that if I was Portland. You get a younger PG and someone to replace Brandon Roy. Marcus Camby's career is almost over and Miller for Wallace straight-up would be a steal for Portland to me. Wade out tonight against Phoenix with a sore knee And oof, Orlando is opening up a can on the Spurs. Up 88-71 late in the 3rd. Dwayne Wade injured? Who could have ever predicted that....

Good job Orlando, that's what I like to see! You do the J.O.B. to us and then go beat San Antonio. That's how it should always work!

Only 20 minutes apiece for Timmy and Manu tonight. Pop is the best coach in the L, he's always got his mind on the big picture. I love that guy.
