All in all, I feel bad for Steve Nash. The funny thing is I saw on Twitter after this that Nash's agent said the Phoenix management assured Steve NOTHING is going on with him in terms of being traded. .....how is that a good thing for Steve exactly? If Jason Kidd wasn't my all time favorite player, I'd welcome Nash back to Dallas. But I'm a Kidd guy and I think we are more then just fine the way we are right now. If it was Devin Harris still here, I'd sell that f***er down the river for Nash just like we did with Kidd. Most overrated PG there is IMO. He doesn't really do anything particularly well, he just does enough things decently that people buy into him. And the old as time excuse that he's young and we traded him for an older player. Youth doesn't necessarily equal better. God damnit I will never understand peoples love for that guy when he was here. I thought getting lit up like a Christmas light by gimpy knee'd Baron Davis every game in the '07 playoffs should have told you all you needed to know about him. But I guess not.

He even hung with Deron Williams in the next round, it wasn't his fault Golden State wasn't nearly as big as Utah in the paint. Admittedly, I HATED the Kidd/Harris trade. As far as I was concerned, the only positive thing Deavon George did after becoming a Mav was using his partial no-trade to block the deal. I thought that Kidd would get baked alive by the quicker guards in the league and was a shell of his former self. And I also thought Harris would become a better PG with time. I was wrong, I've said it for more than a year now. Kidd could play for another 3-5 years and I'd be ok with it. Devon Harris.... is good enough not to suck. Also, if people bitch about Kidd's defense now, imagine Nash in Dallas' current system.

Second night of the back to back, star player for the opposition sits, team is sitting another player due to a trade, so you look at them and just chalk it up as an easy W. May not want to do that again. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are beating the Knicks. Yes, those Cavaliers.

Yeah that was a Baron Davis and Golden State team that had owned the Mavericks all year, and were red hot going into the playoffs. Too bad Baron's been a disappointment with the Clippers, but that's what happens when the injuries mount up. And Blake Griffin now has 15 straight double doubles.

I wish I would have put money on that series when I had the chance. I just knew going into that series that the Mavericks were going to lose. That season and the season before, for whatever reason, the Warriors just ran all over us. Hell, 2007 when we met them in the 1st round was the year we won 67 games, meaning we only had 15 losses......2 (or was it 3?) were to the Warriors. For whatever reason, we just matched up HORRIBLY with them. Everyone wanted to credit Don Nelson because he "knew" the team, despite the fact that very few players remained from his time and the system was completely changed by Avery Johnson. The Warriors were just a bad match up. Everyone just seemed to think once the playoffs came, things would just go normally and the 1 seed would trounce the 8 no matter who it was. It hurts even more because I KNOW that was our year. We just happened to run into the only team that somehow became our kryptonite. Of course, Avery Johnson could have stopped it. We played the Warriors in our 2nd to last game of the regular season and sat most of the starters, even though the Warriors were still in a race with the Clippers for the 8th seed. We pretty much let the Warriors waltz right into the postseason and kill us. Thanks Avery. By the way, the f***tard played all the starters and everyone normal minutes the next night, our final regular season game, against Seattle, who was buried deep in the standings. That's when any and all Avery Johnson is a genius talk died. We would have swept the Clippers out of the 1st round so fast that year it would have made heads spin. I'm still unable to figure out which Avery era disaster was worse. Blowing the finals or the next years debacle in the 1st round. Sure losing a 2-0 finals lead is bad, but letting the one team that owned us walk right into a matchup with us in the playoffs is right there with it IMO. And I should add, the genius CHANGED OUR STARTING LINEUP TO MATCHUP WITH THE 8TH SEED WARRIORS. Yes, winning 67 games and dominating, whats that? Why make them play our game, lets cater to them and try to play their game! God damnit I hate you Avery. I'm never going to stop being bitter about the Avery Johnson era.

Not to rub it in or anything, but as someone with no rooting interest in either Dallas or Golden State, that was one of the most fun to watch playoff series I've ever seen. But then, I'm not from Texas. And hey, the Cavs end their 10 game skid, first such streak since 02-03. I wonder what the common variable is...

The Knicks are on a 3 game losing skid, including a loss to the freaking Cavs! I think it is time that D'Antoni lengthens the rotation so that his starters dont have to play 40+ minutes every night. The wear and tear will catch up with Felton and Amar'e soon unless their minutes are managed better.
Our remaining games this month will be extremely tough. We have the Thunder, the Bulls (no Noah), the Heat (who are hot right now) and the Magic (a team that made some big moves and strengthened their roster).

Orlando is going all in it seems. I think it was a mistake making two major trades like that in one day. I dunno...it might take awhile for everything to gel.

They wanted to please Dwight Howard, who has been frustrated with the team these last few weeks. It's better to make these trades than take the risk of losing Dwight Howard once his contract is up.

It's Lebron and Cleveland all over again. Orlando will not win a championship. They are still the 4th or 5th best team in the East. Dwight is the only guy who will play defense.

There's one too many experienced veteran teams and one too many star studded war machines in their way. They had a small window two years ago, and one missed wide open three to potentially shift the series to 2-2 missed, and it was all she wrote.

I can't believe that that whole situation didn't serve as a more cautionary tale that adding expensive, declining veterans is a poor way to convince your franchise player that you are "in it to win it". Its just so desperate.
