Eeeeeh...
You'd think the fact that people shit all over that twist seven years ago would have been indication enough not to do it.

Eh. Could be good. Let's give it a shot before we bury it.

Eeeeeh... You'd think the fact that people s*** all over that twist seven years ago would have been indication enough not to do it. This is really a potentially show-ruining twist for me. I mean, Survivor is still my favorite show on television and I'm still going to watch, but I really doubt I'll enjoy it anywhere near as much anymore if this becomes a permanent thing. The most fundamental element of Survivor is that if you're voted out, you're GONE. I don't like this one bit.

Just because it's Survivor I'll give it a fair shot when the season debuts and see how it plays out, but I'm with you. The one thing on these shows I can't tolerate is someone losing fairly then being given a chance to come back. You lost, that's it. Period. You had your chance to save your butt and failed. Go home. Just because from an entertainment standpoint it worked on Pearl Islands doesn't mean it was the right thing to do long term. I was pleased when Kaiser was eliminated the second he was brought back on BB. But despite my pessimism, I am going to give it a fair shot. After 21 seasons I feel i owe the show that much. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Well, they film the spring season while the fall season is airing, and that rumor leaked after this season already premiered, so it would have been too late to change it from a Rob vs. Russell season by then. Honestly though, I hope it is all new people. Survivor has really been using past contestants as a crutch. They need a couple seasons of new blood so we can have new favorites added to the mix the next time they do an alumni season.

Just for the sake of the discussion, what are your final thoughts on the season and where is Judson ranking on your all's lists of all time winners?

Maybe it'll grow on me. Same. The show deserved a fair shot after a decade of some of my favorite television experiences. But I'm not anxiously and eagerly anticipating the new season like I was before this twist was revealed. Before, I was practically frothing at the mouth for more Survivor. Now I'm just kind of figuring it'll get here when it gets here.

Just for the sake of the discussion, what are your final thoughts on the season and where is Judson ranking on your all's lists of all time winners? I don't think Judson played a top-ten game, since his winning was so contingent upon his challenge run at the end. The optimum player would have made it to the end regardless (see Yul Kwon, the greatest player of all-time, in my opinion). The other thing working against Judson's game being an all-time game is how close Chase came to snatching what should have been a walk at the last minute with that incredible final jury performance. But it was at least a top twenty-five game. Not everybody on a greatest Survivors ever list has to be a former winner. In fact, I would venture that there are more non-winners who played amazing games and lost due to bitter juries, hidden immunity idols getting played, some unforeseen circumstance (like an injury) forcing them to leave, or somebody else's stupidity ruining a perfect plan (see Tyson's decision last season to flip his vote at the last minute for absolutely no reason). Jud is probably one of the better recent winners, since he made moves to ensure that the pieces necessary for his win fell into place from early on. I don't have my list anymore, but he'd rank around 20-25 in all-time winners. I actually think Holly played the best game this season, but it just wasn't meant to be. Overall this was a pretty good season for strategy though, nothing like the horrible scrambling that's supposed to pass for strategy when people like Russell is playing.

Just for the sake of the discussion, what are your final thoughts on the season and where is Judson ranking on your all's lists of all time winners? great season with a bunch of players who i could easily see making it to an all star season, even a good chunk of the early boots had the potential to be great an obivously jud has to be ranked high. there have been people who have went on huge challenge streaks in the past, but not when they needed to win it badly. Chase had no reason to get that many votes. I wouldve voted Sash over him.

This was actually a pretty up and down season for me, though it wasn't the show's fault. In the beginning I was enjoying it well enough, but I wasn't invested. I can thank some troll over at the BB feed site for that. Back during the Summer when BB was in full force, someone hacked the feed during one afternoon and posted three things:
-YOU PEOPLE NEED TO GET A LYFE LOL. -NaOnka is getting an immunity idol on Survivor. -Brenda is going to win!
I've never had a season spoiled for me before, so I was pissed. I was just watching the show go along. Shannon goes home over Brenda, NaOnka gets her idol, Brenda's name stops coming up. I was pretty resigned to her winning. Then Sash didn't pull that idol out of his pocket at her elimination, and the game was brand new. I got super invested, mostly because Jud suddenly had a chance. The season itself after that has been pretty solid. It was going to have a hard time regardless because it was following Heroes vs. Villains. I've ended up really enjoying it, especially with Jud's mad dash to the finish line. One of the most innocent, purely likable people to get cast on to this show in a long time. His answer about his Mom and him breaking down was so real and so sweet.
Sandra is my favorite overall player, and favorite winner of all time. I don't see anyone ever over throwing her from that spot. I'll tell you what though, watching Jud play what is ultimately going to be an over looked and severely under rated game, and be so likable along the way, he's soared up my list since September. He isn't the best to ever play the game or anything, but if I'm slotting him in my winner's list based on who I've enjoyed watching play, he may very well be #2 behind Sandra. I love this kid to death. If he isn't #2 exactly, he's in that discussion with Hatch, Yul, Chris, etc.
The first Russell free experience in a while went very well. Had a lot of fun with Jud and this season.

though the reunion show was kinda disappointing (though liked the Jimmy Johnson and Terry Bradshaw stuff), I'm actually now in agreement with NaOnka in a way, in her explaination of things. at the end of the day it is just a reality show where the winner wins a million bucks. just didn't know why Jeff STILL had to take shots at her and Purple Kelly. that and outside of the Jane stuff, where in the hell was Marty the whole time!?
and season 21 is in the books. quite a few people from this season I'd like to see if they do a 2nd chances season again that I've already mentioned. will I watch next season... who knows. been a fun season once I knew Jimmy Johnson was part of the cast. guess I'll see what the season 22 cast list is and decide

Congrats Fabio 420! ;D
EDIT: Did they show who's vote that was, and do they ever show the final tally (like they do at the end of each episode) or have I just missed it all these years?

I haven't heard grumbling under applause like that since Natalie began pulling away at the Samoa finale. But unlike a (thank goodness it didn't happen) Chase win, Natalie's was actually, quite satisfying, for some reason. Just her whole likable aura I guess. Her's was ridiculously satisfying to me, just because the idea of Russell winning sickened me.

Just for the sake of the discussion, what are your final thoughts on the season and where is Judson ranking on your all's lists of all time winners? I don't know where he ranks, but he's my favorite contestant since Ozzy (and keep in mind I started watching this show during the first time Ozzy was on the show; the season where the made the tribes by race at first). I don't care if it's strategy or not, I like the people who aren't jackasses who win the game because they won challenges.
