I guess I don't understand. Would Nexus have dropped Cena after the handshake anyways? What did Otunga do it for in the first place?

They were testing Cena to see if he would do the right thing.

I think it was to prove Punk's point. Cena has no concept of mercy.

It was a trap. They were going to beat down Cena regardless.

Probably one of two reasons:
1. (In Kayfabe) To fool Cena into thinking everything was all good, then they would ambush him at a later date if he took them up on it.
2. To prove Punks point as mentioned before. A great heel believes they are right in what they are doing and is even better when they have things to back up their viewpoint.

I know Otunga raised his arm and all, but I still want them to play it off as if Otunga was blindsided, sure that he'd get to be the leader like he'd always wanted, only to have it snatched out from under him by Punk.
Gabriel looked hesitant to raise his arm, so now you have Otunga (who wants to be leader) and Gabriel (who maybe is still loyal to Wade Barrett), and maybe we see if that causes any tension with Heath, Husky, and McGillicutty. This is seriously a great opportunity to develop character for these guys.
They probably won't, though. They'll drop "We Are One" for "This Fire Burns", and shave their heads, and become the new Gallows and Mercury.

Barrett was gone, he was responsible for most of what they did to Cena, and also responsible for the beat downs Cena did to the rest of them. They really have nothing to gain by fighting Cena anymore, and probably just wanted the beatdowns to stop. Seems reasonable.

Yeah, it was to prove how barbaric Cena was/had become after they arrived.
I expect Punk to be all over him for it next week.

I really, really don't want to see what Heath Slater looks like bald. For some reason I imagine that his bald head is shaped like a triangle. I'm actually not sure if by "Under New Management" Otunga meant Punk or himself, and if we are supposed to think that Punk had it planned all along to be with Nexus or he just decided while he was sitting in the chair. By this I mean what Creative wants us to think.

Why would Cena accept? It was obviously a setup. Not even Sting would have fallen for that...maybe.

He looked clueless that he was suppose to even be doing it.

Punk's first move needs to be to reinstate Michael Tarver to Nexus!

It was a test to see how gullible/merciful Cena was.

I think Otunga was completely honest in his offer of a truce. He was the first one to try and befriend Cena when Cena joined Nexus and to a degree, they WERE tag team champs together for one night. Barrett was the one with the complete hard on for humiliating and getting rid of Cena, not the rest of Nexus.
He brought it on himself. He should of just shaken the mans hand. Then again...who's to say if he did...that Punk wouldn't have put the armband on.

Because he knows.... Nexus cannot beat Cena.
You're either Nexus or Against Us . . ..or John Cena

Probablt sincere on Otunga's behalf and Punk let him do it because he knew what Cena would do. This. Punk knew what Cena's reaction would be and used that to teach Nexus.
