Cena represents WWE sports entertainment. WWE appeals to the lowest common denomenator. Its only normal that Cena fans wouldn't be particularly bright.
As much as i love wrestling is as much as i despise Vince's product.
Cena is over with the lowest of the low of the population and the 5 - 12 year olds who don't know better. Sure Cena sells merch to this crowd, but i doubt his merch sales come close to Austin's or Hogan's. Why? Austin & Hogan appealed to the MASS population they converted new fans... Cena is just rapping to the already converted (brain washed?) WWE marks.
That said I think Cena is a decent talent. Hes a hell of a promo man when given the chance. Hes just got a VERY stale gimmick and seems to have no concept of psychology when he wrestles, instead he makes inane facial expressions while doing the same lame moves every match.

I'm terribly sorry but seeing the foul-mouthed NEANDATHALS that go to ECW who go start fights because someone chants for a wrestler they don't like and threaten to riot if a wrestling show doesn't go their way I don't think it's entirely fair to say that WWE appeals to the lowest common denomenator. ...of course ECW is now owned by WWE, but you get my point.

Tardis....I think you're reading a bit more into that "If Cena wins, we Riot" sign than should be. It was a sign, at a wrestling show. Had Cena won, I doubt there would have been a riot (A mass pelting of trach into the ring perhaps, but no riot). As for wrestling fans in general.... "What scares me most about wrestling fans is that they are allowed to breed" - Bobby Heenan. ;D

I'm quoting this for the straight up truth there, dogg. Word life.
