He was actually very over by late '99-early '00.
At the 2000 Rumble, he gets a HUGE pop when he enters. Granted the crowd was hot for the whole show, but it is a noticeably large reaction.
Then they just turned him heel again and saddled him with Albert, who wasn't over. They seemed to have big plans for him, but just never went through with them for whatever reason.

First time I saw him I thought he was supposed to be some second rate Nash ripoff.
Also it didn't help that his name was 'Test.'

Also it didn't help that his name was 'Test.' That's a very good point. With a better name, he would have been more well received. i think they didn't push him because he looked like a rat. Conor O'Brian is giving you a death stare right now.

I think Stacy Keibler referring to his fans as Testicles was what killed his chances of getting over.

What I want to know is, when Triple H stole Stephanie from him, why didn't they feud after that. It was Vince who fought Triple H at Armageddon 99, not Test, which never made sense to me. It was purely the booking that killed Test's momentum. Any on-and-off push after that was never the same. They should've just continued pushing him was he was red hot.

I remember wanting him to main event just because he had the best flying elbow since Savage at the time. Seriously, does anyone remember that? I loved it, and dunno why he stopped doing it. Big guys doing stuff like that always looked cool. That's also why I dug the Test Drive... just because he was a big man, doing a move really fast.

Just the push out the door he got for being a no-talent place holder

I atttended Summerslam '99. His match with Shane McMahon was THE best match on the card. I really thought he'd be going places after that, but the WWE dropped the ball.

I miss Test, haven't heard of him in ages. Where is he now, did he retire?

Sadly, he's no longer with us. Wait WHAT? ? When? Wow, I must have missed this.... Wow R.I.P Andrew Martin.... Yeah I think he died in 2007 or 2008. Think it had something to do with drugs. To paraphrase the Wrestlecrap Book of Lists, the reason probably had something to do with his name, Test. He wasn't The Test or A Test he was just Test, if he was "The Test" Andrew Martin or Andrew The Test Martin he may have had a chance. Hell I remember in 2003 he got a clean win over Kevin Nash. Personally I liked him better with long hair, pants and fairly muscular body over short hair, trunks and roided up body.
