Really sorry for the rant guys but I mean really I can't stand it, so very much. I've now just about managed to get used to 'Daniel Bryan' and 'Husky Harris' I can live with but jesus Michael Mcgillicutty is just so so terrible I just can't handle it!
Does anybody have any vaugue idea what-so-ever as to the likelyhood of a name change ocuuring? John Morrison did it, The Rock did it, Triple H kinda, anyone?

Of course. WWE will realize their error in giving him such a silly name and realize that they need to recognize the legacy of his father make sure that his son's moniker will reflect that. Thus a year from now, we will have wrestling's hottest star...
"The Perfect McGillicutty"

I think it was solely so they could do puns like "McGillibuddies" and "McGillicutter".

I hope so it's such a clunky name. Impossible to chant and ugly to look at.

I mentioned this in another thread, but he actually had a decent explanation behind this name: McGillicutty is actually his mother's maiden name.

He needed to co-opt the RKO and have the McGillicutter as a finisher.

I think he's pretty much stuck with it now. I liked the idea someone here posted that he be called "Joe Perfect" and he tries to imitate his dad, but fails at everything.

They should change his last name to Hitchcock, his genesis speech had me on the edge of my seat with suspense

It's like when Austin was the Ringmaster, and he was trying to come up with a new persona, and creative came up with terrible temperature based names like Ice Dagger and Chilly McFreeze. And he knew that a character with a name like that would never, ever get over.
Michael McGillicutty is like those. Except they actually went forward with it. And replace "temperature based" with "really, really stupid sounding".

Should rename him "Master Perfect". Team him with Derrick Bateman.

They need to. Joe Hennig is more chantable, and generally a better name.

If they decide to actually give him any sort of significant push, he'll be renamed and reinvented; otherwise, he looks set to wind up as talent enhancement on Superstars alongside Darren Young when the Nexus angle wraps up, and he'll probably still be McGillicutty for that.
I'm still waiting for Dolph Ziggler to be renamed, now that he's actually establishing himself as a guy with potential to move up the ranks.

Its not that changing his real name was THAT bad...its just that the name they chose was terrible.

It can easily be changed. He can say that he got in an argument with his mother and from now on, he will be going by his father's last name.
It'll help get him over as a heel because nobody likes a guy who argues with his mother.
