Was this weeks Smackdown main event the most pointless match in WWE history?

So they had a match to determine he stipulation of their match at the upcoming ppv called TLC. And Edge wins so chooses a TLC match.

Was this outcome ever in doubt??? The clue is in the PPV name!

It's like when Trish Stratus made the huge announcement of a Hell in a Cell match for Hell in a Cell.

At TLC, there is a tables match, ladder match, chair match and a TLC match. Maybe he was just choosing between those.

Didn't they have a match similar to this last year between Batista and the Undertaker, and the winner chose a "chairs match"?

Not pointless. There are many options. I'd personally choose a match where Paul Bearer is hanging above the ring (Survivor Series 1996).

Obviously if Kane had won you would think he wouldn't choose a ladder match because its Edge's speciality.

Mind you Kane is only World Champion because he won a ladder match.

His TLC match on RAW where he defended the World Tag Titles alone is one of my all-time favorites. He was such a beast in that match.

Not really either one coulda chose to say a Tabels, Ladder, OR a Chairs Match and not a Tables, Ladder, AND Chairs match IMO

I was hoping for a TC match where the belt is still hung above the center of the ring but you have to stack tables and chairs to get it

I must have missed that episode. But granted this time it's a one on one match, and it's 8 years later. Not quite the same thing. But I'm hoping it's a good match and that Kane destroys Edge.

No, that would've worked to Kane's advantage. He knows all about stripping people down to their underwear.

Though at least he would've given Edge a suit after absorbing his powers.
