Today was a happy day for me, because the incredibly lazy US Post Office finally delivered my copy of Mike Leigh's Topsy-Turvy in its spiffy new Criterion Collection blu-ray edition. Now this movie...if I were pressed to come up with just ONE movie that I would label my "favorite", I think I would choose this one. Fantastic performances across the board, a overwhelmingly delightful tone with more pensive themes of creation and mortality hiding under its surface, this movie is just tops.
So that leads me to this topic. What's your favorite movie? Not your top 10, or top 5, or top 25. Top ONE. You only get one movie to watch for the rest of your days, this is the one you're going with. Go to work, I'll be off watching mine...

There are three movies that'd be in the contention. The Truman Show, The Blues Brothers and Rocky.

If I had to pick one, I'd go with the one movie I've seen more than any other: Pulp Fiction.

For me, it's a toss up between The Princess Bride, The Truman Show, and Back to the Future. I honestly cannot decide.
