The stage is set for the biggest pro wrestling event to hit this area since the days of Wrestling at the Chase. The best collection of talent from all around the world will be assembled all under one roof. On January 8, 2011 there will be anarchy at the Knights of Columbus in O’Fallon, IL. There is only one company that can bring a show of this caliber to St. Louis and that company is St. Louis Anarchy. The St Louis Anarchy Championship will be on the line as Champion Evan Gelistico will take on Dan Walsh. Evan is a well traveled competitor and has held the many singles and tag team titles. He is a smart technician with a mean streak and a whatever it takes to win attitude. Dan Walsh is a former military man that served time in Iraq as well as a star on MTV’s Road Rules and The Challenge: Cutthroat. See a piece of Japan when Dragon Gate performer Akira Towzawa takes on Gerald James. “Spitfire” Davey Vega faces his toughest challenge to date as he takes on arguably the best wrestler in the world, Davey Richards. The best wrestler to come out of the STL, Dingo will make his return to the ring against his very last student, the high flying Fittchet. ACW Heavywieight Champion Robert Evens will go up against Shimmer Star the smoking hot Rachel Summerlyn. The ACW U-30 title will be on the line in a Six Man Suicide Match that will pit Billy McNeil vs. ACH vs. JT LaMotta vs. Tony Kozina vs. Darin Corbin vs. Shane Hollister! Also in action: Darin Childs, Arik Cannon, The Holligans, Shorty Biggs, Kyle O'Riley, Adam Raw and more..... When: January 8, 2011 7pm Where: O’Fallon, IL Knights of Columbus Tickets: $12 or reserve in advance for only $10 call 314-805-4920

Am I the only one who hasn't heard of any of these guys?
Maybe I'm just out of touch and this really is on the level of Wrestling at the Chase with Lou Thesz, Harley Race, and Bruiser Brody.

Not even Davey Richards? You've also got the awesomeness of Akira Tozawa and Rachel Summerlyn on this card.

Great to see that Dingo's "career ending injury" that people were actually collecting donations for was a work. Classy.

I'm guessing the OP is the promoter. I wouldn't say it was the biggest anyway. Davey Richards is the biggest name on the card, not that he's bad, but he's not an incredible tv name. But hey, in Georgia, Air Paris booked a show with like, a couple of TNA stars and drew 2000 people (more then TNA drew actually, lol) so you never know. This guy on Who's Slamming Who I think did around 1000-1500 people in Georgia as well, but it will be interesting to see how St. Louis does.
I know some of the people on there anyway, I haven't watched much indies though recently. Akira Tozawa, Davey Richards, Rachel Summerlyn, Tony Kozina, Dingo, Hollister and Corbin I think I saw on Chikara, maybe in the King of Trios. And Arik Cannon and Kyle O'Reilly. The main event, the guys look like mini versions of AJ Styles and Desmond Wolfe. That Gerald James looks like Robbie McAllister from the Highlanders.
Also, what happened with Dingo and his career ending injury, sorta.

Also, what happened with Dingo and his career ending injury, sorta. From what I understand, he got a legitimate injury, then SEVERELY oversold it, to the point of it being "career ending" and retiring and vacating the IWA: MS title he held at the time, and collecting donations from fans. From what I understand(I know a guy who worked for IWA: MS at the time), it was basically a work to get people to go nuts for his eventual comeback, and he got to chill out in the process. Mind you, it's been over a year since I heard all this, so I'm sure I've got some of the details completely wrong.

I'm not one of those "every wrestler should be huge" type of guys, but these guys need to lift some weights for God's sake! Why should your audience care about the match if the average person there is in just as good shape as one of your wrestlers?

These guys all look TINY. It's kind of weird. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I could've become a wrestler, after all.

I personally know Dingo and it wasnt a work at all, he was hurt really badly, had several broken vertebrae. This also came at the end of his year or so long reign as iwa mid south champ, a run that saw him wrestling ridiculous and stupid gimmick matches a couple of times a month for several months. He retired from the ring and could not work due to his neck injury. As far as the taking donations thing, I never heard anything about this, I went to the shows in Saint Louis where he announced he'd be retiring and he never said a word about needing money. I even offered to put on a benefit show(I am a stl concert promoter)and he turned the idea down.
Its been close to two years since he was in the ring, and like nearly every wrestler who tries to quit, I suppose he missed it too much and is now making a come back.

And as far as size goes, yeah a lot of the STL anarchy/ACW wrestlers arent jacked up, but the majority of them are no smaller than any regular indy guy, and are bigger than a lot of Chikara type guys. In fact when Evan Gelistico was on the king of trios show, two years ago I think it was, a lot of their fans were making the ridiculous claim that he was too tall.
There are several larger wrestlers on the roster, just none featured in the advertised matches for this event.
