Or at least the darling of the WrestleCrap forums. There is that handful of people who always seems to get mentioned in one thread or another, mostly in positive fashions. So I suppose if there were one true darling of this site, I ask, who would it be?

I'll go with Heyman. I loved ECW and I actually checked out some OVW and enjoyed that too. I think the internet just loves Paul.
Edit: Benoit should have been on the list. He's an internet darling, though for good reason. Have you seen this guy? He could make me look like a decent wrestler.

Kurt Angle.
I don't think I've ever heard a really negative comment about him. Anyone who knows anything about wrestling recognizes his talent, I feel.

I considered Benoit and Matt Hardy, but I felt that things died down with them lately, so I wasn't sure if I should have added them. Sorry folks.

I voted Heyman.
At least with people like CM Punk, Benoit etc you get posts sometimes basically saying "Alright STFU about them already!"
Heyman doesn't even get that.

CM Punk's kind of like that new indy band that your friend's friend is always going on about. From what you've heard of them, they're OK... But if you say anything about them that's less than the utmost praise in front of your friend's friend, you'll get a lecture about how you only like what the cookie-cutter mass-media machine feeds you and how you just don't get it.

I'm not sure there are that many bandwagon CM Punk fans. Sure, this is coming from someone who has a CM Punk avatar. I thought he was something new, fresh and was pretty entertaining in ROH/TNA. I started watching some OVW this year and I really liked it. I'm just not finding as many CM Punk marks as people suggest. Sure, I know there are plenty of CM Punk marks, but some make it seem like a ton of fans who've never heard of him are pretending they know him to be cool. Maybe there are some. Maybe I am wrong as hell, but I think that the idea that there is some kind of of CM Punk hysteria is overblown.

I don't know much of anything about him other than the fact that he's "straight edge" and has a big corporate Pepsi Cola logo on his arm for some insane reason. I'm not going to dismiss him, though. I want to see him work in WWE and see how he handles himself on a large stage before I judge him as a wrestler or character.

I myself think that the Punk love stems from the fact that we're so goddamn desperate for something, ANYTHING new, that someone who most of us have HEARD can work, most of us have HEARD can talk, seems like a godsend and the answer to all of the things we nitpick every week.
Your mileage may vary.

I think it's quite obvious.
He's straight edge, over-rated and generic. There's a few hints.

Have to go with The Punk.
All of the above get more than their fair share of praise.
But never have I seen an above-average ring worker spoken about like he's bigger than anyone who has ever laced up a pair of wrestling boots. It's silly, and a bit embaressing.

Which one? You have a virtual harem of them. By the way, AJ could use a haircut. Yeesh.
