I've seen a ton of NDP signs. Probably more than any other party. Same here. Which has made my family downright giddy.

With this sudden NDP surge, I'd be very, very, very, very surprised if they don't end up making a big impact on the elections tomorrow.

To all Canadian 'Crappers, Prime Minister Stephen Harper is expected to speak soon on CBC. Probably not that much to say, but still an important thing to address if you're interested in watching.

Do Quebecers even care about secession from Canada anymore? That issue stopped being relevant since the 1995 Referendum. Well there are some hardcore people who do and will push that until the day they die. Pauline Marois keeps saying that if she is elected that she will make it a priority. Duceppe doesn't say it as much but from time to time he's brought it up as well. Both have said they are waiting for the "winning conditions" to call for one (assuming they are in power of course). I believe most Quebecers are past wanting it, but you still get some here and there who believe in it. Funny thing is, they want to seperate yet still use Canadian money.

Now I'm frustrated. The address on my card is wrong and I'm stupid enough to wait to the last minute to change. I tried phoning them but I got no answer.

I caught a glimpse of it, and he just gaged his reaction to the Osama bin Laden stuff, and noted about Canada's contributions to the Middle East efforts.

Bah, still don't know who I am voting for. I am in a very, very, very, very Conservative riding, though the mayor is running Liberal this year, so that may slant the votes somewhat, but the Conservatives are taking a seat here.
I voted for them last time, because they were the only logical choice, but.....I gotta think I may go NDP. They seem to be the closest bet for what I believe, but I dunno.
Harper will likely win another minority and we'll all be back at the polls within a year or so.
Hopefully Canadians will finally be sick of his shitty leadership by then and choose a different shit leader.

...so the freaking ads about how "Ignatieff will raise taxes and kick your puppy and we have nothing else to attack him on, vote Conservative!" will end after tonight?
Somebody give me the Tenay/West cheer gif, stat. >_>;

Fredericton will almost certainly remain Conservative, but I am curious to see who finishes second. Andy Scott had held the riding for the Liberals for 15 years, but he didn't run for reelection in 2008, so it swung to the Tories. It'll be interesting if the Liberals can hang on to second place in the face of the NDP surge.

I voted about half an hour ago. I really hope the scarce few people at my polling station aren't indicative of the general trend tonight.

I can honestly say, if it weren't for you guys I totally would've forgotten to vote. I was watching CNN all morning, and just happened to pop on here and saw the thread about the election and was like "Wait, is that today??". So, after a 5 minute conversation with my Mum who basically called me an idiot for forgetting considering we've been getting slammed with election ads since quite a while before the election was officially called, I made it down to vote before I had to work.
That's my random story

Iggy and Duceppe aren't even winning their ridings right now, so I think that's a pretty big sign of how screwed they are

Happy that the NDP are progressing well, but pretty angry that the Conservatives are on their way to another government.

I just love seeing the Bloc fail. It makes me happy inside, they shouldn't even exist. You should not be able to be a national party without running seats in most of the country
